- Collaborate with Impact Managers to track project requirements, scopes, and objectives for Key Initiatives to ensure alignment across all Key Initiatives in relation to Key Initiative goals.
- Work with Impact Managers to assist in coordinating the logistics of the competitive request for proposal (RFP) process including website updates, review committee communications, answering LOI/RFP questions from applicants, and coordination of RFP review committees.
- Monitor funded organization compliance with requirements of the collaboration agreement in partnership with Impact Managers and Director of Key Initiatives.
- Research, summarize, and report on specific topics related to current key initiative areas and summarize research of distinct topics as determined by Impact Managers and CID management.
- Coordinate and support grantee training and convenings.
- Support Key Initiative events and activities by coordinating internal and external planning committees to ensure that related events and activities adhere to scope, schedule, and budget provided, in collaboration with Volunteer Engagement and Marketing and Communications.
- Ensure website information is up to date and aligned across all key initiatives, community resiliency, and legacy investments, in partnership with Marketing and Communications.
- Serve as point of communication between Impact Managers and external stakeholders and represent Impact Manager on various committees and community work groups aligned with Key Initiatives, as requested.
- Present to and engage workplaces, donor affinity groups, and any other institutions or entities as relevant about the critical importance of key initiatives.
- Work with Impact Managers to design, develop, coordinate, and implement technical assistance training for annual funded organization reporting.
- Other duties related to the coordination and support of key initiatives as assigned.
- Provide oversight of funded organization effectiveness through review of reports including budgets and outcome results for Community Resiliency and Legacy investment areas.
- Facilitate competitive RFP process for the Community Resiliency and Legacy investment areas, including Letter of Intent and application review and scoring, virtual meetings, and funding recommendations.
- Provide direct assistance to agency staff and volunteers to implement United Way's expectations and policies for service delivery and administration.
- Assist in implementation of yearly technical assistance training for agency year-end report writing.
- Support technical needs with preparation of proposals, outcomes reporting, and other documentation required.
- Consult on modifications or redirections of program design.
- Communicate/implement corrective action when necessary.
- Respond to questions, appeals and other concerns.
- Follow allocations processes for existing programs.

Description
SUMMARY
The Impact Specialist reports to the Director of Key Initiatives and works closely with Key Initiative Impact Managers to ensure alignment and coordination across key initiatives. This includes developing and implementing training, coordinating, and facilitating competitive requests for proposal (RFP) logistics, coordinating volunteer grant review committees, coordinating, and supporting grantee convenings, and supporting key initiative volunteer engagement activities and events. This position also provides oversight of Community Resiliency & Legacy investment areas under the guidance of the Director of Key Initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES

IMPLEMENT KEY INITIATIVE STRATEGIES AND INITIATIVES
Collaborate with Impact Managers and Community Impact Department (CID) management to execute the strategies needed to meet the Key Initiative goal outcomes in United Way's four-county service area.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
OVERSIGHT OF COMMUNIYT RESILIENCY & LEGACY INVESTMENT AREAS (Includes Lead Safe Homes and Flu Vaccine grants)
This position serves as the lead staff for community investment strategies focused on Community Resiliency and Legacy (Resource, Referral & Support, Nonprofit Capacity Building, Healthy Youth) as well as other miscellaneous special grants including Lead Safe Homes and Flu Vaccine clinic.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required. 2-4 years of experience. Experience in grant oversight, program/project oversight preferred including experience delivering training. Ability to independently execute assigned tasks from beginning to completion with minimal guidance. Understanding of non-profits, human services, and community needs. Demonstrated success in problem solving. Ability to work well independently and within a team including staff and volunteers with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas and proposals in a clear, concise, motivational manner, both in writing and verbally. Ability to recommend and implement policy/procedural changes and recordkeeping skills. Proficient in working with computerized software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or other similar programs.
