About this job:

We are seeking a reserving actuary to join our Global non-life reserving team.

This role will be responsible for supporting our European based reserving team. Lines of business would include property, casualty, motor, marine, engineering, catastrophe, and potentially other lines of reinsurance business.


Qualifications:


About you:


  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3 to 7 years working experience in nonlife reserving or pricing in the reinsurance field, or related actuarial experience.
  • Person should have made significant progress in earning their actuarial accreditation. Fully credentialed actuary is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong IT and data management skills, programming experience preferred (Examples: R, Python, Power BI).
  • Clear oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to learn and navigate existing systems and processes to accomplish stated business objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other team members and professionals at PartnerRe.
  • Highly motivated, teamorientation, adaptability and autonomous

Key skills:


Area of duties include:

  • Building a knowledge of our Global Reserving platform, ReP.
  • Complete reserving deep dive for assigned line of business. Will involve working with others on the reserving team, as well as extensive interraction with pricing, underwriting, and claims.
  • Prepare quarterly presentations to executive underwriting management and business unit leadership.
  • Engage with more granular underwriting teams and claims to enhance the reserving freedback loop, should aim to provide value added insights to the business unit.
  • Quarterly reserve indications for assigned areas.
  • Related data management.
  • Booking and reconciliation of selected reserves.
  • Maintaining an appropriate documentation of processes and procedures, including playing a role in fulfilling our global nonlife reserving Sarbanes Oxley control procedures and documentation.
  • Providing summary reports and management information.
  • Meeting obligations for required internal, US GAAP, and local accounting reporting and audits.
  • If the person is sufficiently skilled, play a significant role in efforts to maintain and enhance our global reserving system.
