Within this Department,
you will be part of the Sanction team that ensures AXA Group operates legally and ethically with regards sanctions laws and regulations while reaching its business objectives.

Sanctions are a critical tool in the global fight against financial crime, terrorism, and other activities that threaten international peace.

In the current geopolitical environment, sanctions laws are constantly evolving making it very important, more than ever, to have an effective sanction compliance program which addresses legal, technological, and operational aspects to ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant sanctions imposed by various governments and other bodies.


Your job and daily missions:

Are you passionate about mitigating sanctions risks? Do you like using your analytical mind to identify areas for improvement and change? Can you build amazing relationships with numerous senior stakeholders across the business? If yes, then we may have the role for you

Together with Sanction team, you will be developing and managing the AXA Group Sanctions Compliance Program.

Your role will be, first, to support and protect the business against bad actors and sanctions risks; and second, to ensure swift and effective detection of sanctions cases and embed sanctions regimes, rules, and guidance throughout business transversally.


You will be working with numerous business and compliance teams all around AXA Group (more than 50 AXA local entities), managing different project to boost AXA Group Compliance Program, treating referrals of complex sanctions matters (around 20 referrals per day), performing controls via physical visits of entities all over the world (around 3 visits per year).


So, what would you be doing exactly?

  • Contributing to the development, maintenance and execution of AXA Group Sanctions Program (i.e. risk assessment, procedural and control framework, certification and training program, reporting to senior management)
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external Sanction communities:
  • Ensuring regular exchanges between AXA Group entities
  • Coorganizing with the Head of Sanctions regular meetings with local and international financial industry representatives and government authorities
  • Preparing the reporting to Senior Management and crossfunctional partners to raise awareness on Sanctions trends, emerging issues, remedial actions or enhancements to the program
  • Investigating and providing final decision on escalated sanction cases for Level 3 review
  • Monitoring and testing performance of sanction controls and preparing the reporting on potential sanctions control gaps recommending ways to modify existing controls and/or determine new controls to be setup
  • Ensuring the quality of OFAC Blocks and Rejects reporting and contribute to the reporting to French and EU authorities when needed.
