YOUR contribution:


Context

The Expertise Center Global Market Analysis (GMA) and the Business Platform Clients (BP Clients) are looking for an experienced power market analyst.


He/She will be part of a team of market analysts dedicated to serve ENGIE's professional clients and covering the whole energy scope from macroeconomics to CO2 emissions.


  • He/She will report to the leaders of the BP Clients and the EC GMA.

Role

The Power Market Analyst will focus on the production of timely comments, analysis and forecasts through the EnergyScan platform on the European power market as well as other markets related to power: CO2 emissions, guarantees of origin, capacity guarantees or energy efficiency certificates among others.


He/She will use and develop internal tools and models to provide a clear view on European power market fundamentals (production, demand, cross-border flows) and related markets to a large audience with various levels of expertise on energy market topics.


He/She will closely collaborate with experts of the BP Clients' market analysis team and more globally with the GMA expertise center to answer questions from internal and external clients and provide first-class advice on energy markets.


He/She will actively participate in the commercial development of the EnergyScan service by representing the team in direct meeting with clients as well as international conferences and events.


Key missions

  • Communicate with ENGIE's clients about power market evolutions and their impact on hedging/investment strategies
  • Support the market analysis team to develop and maintain power supply/demand models
  • Collect data to develop and maintain scenarios of production capacity in Europe (RES, thermal, hydro, storage etc)
  • Develop and maintain market data, analysis, recurrent reports and presentations through the EnergyScan platform
  • Promote team spirit and collaboration

About YOU:


Hard skills

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Programming skills (Python and/or R), ability to use complex models
  • Experience in trading environment and commodity markets

Education and professional background

  • Master degree or PhD in relevant area (engineering, economics, mathematics, physics, etc)
  • Min 5 years experience in power market analysis and knowledge of related markets (certificates, gas and coal)

Languages

  • Fluent in French and in English
