The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A Manager) for Volvo Financial Services (VFS) is responsible for financial and business analyses, guiding the business in achieving its goals, and ensuring adherence to both internal and external deadlines.
Reporting to the VP Finance, the FP&A Manager plays a key role in the consolidation of monthly results as well as actively participate in the development and consolidation of the annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts.
This individual supports in the achievement of operational efficiency. Through analysis of monthly results, they provide analysis reports that will assist management in decision-making. Through understanding the needs of the organization, the FP&A manager formulates and controls the operational budget and forecast. They are also responsible for implementing related systems and processes including improving them on a continuous basis.This position is based in Lyon, France and is part of the VFS Europe South West, Australia, Africa which includes France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, UK, Ireland, Australia, and South Africa.
Key responsibilities:
- Manages the planning process throughout the year, including monthly shortterm forecasts along with fall and spring longterm forecasts
- Oversees reserves and associated documentation for the region and collaboration with Global FP&A
- Monitors and performs analysis on local market pricing assumptions, including risk and operating cost factors
- Provides mentorship to analysts in applicable markets on topics such as pricing, modelling, and professional development
- Creates materials and provides assistance to local market colleagues on key FP&A topics
- Compiles publicly available information pertaining to competitor performance and assists in the presentation of findings to senior management
- Supports the VP Finance in developing executive information, reporting and measurements for financial and nonfinancial data
- Ensures that all financial transactions are controlled, tracked, reported and analyzed in a timely manner, in accordance with Volvo's Financial Policies and Procedures
- Performs adhoc reporting and analysis in support of the Regional Management Team
- Works successfully in a small but focused team with broad exposure to several markets
- Performs other duties and special projects as required by the business
Education:
- University degree or equivalent is required; MBA highly preferred
- Professional qualification in Accounting or Finance such as CIMA or CGMA preferrí
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of financial modelling, planning and business analysis experience
- Minimum of 7 years working experience in finance, accounting, controlling or similar
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience in a regional environment
- Experience in Financial Services, Banking, or a related industry will be prioritized
- Proven abilities in Excel (expert level), PowerPoint (expert level)
- Working experience in appropriate VFS and Volvo Group accounting and finance systems preferred
- Working experience showing fluency in English and one other language practiced in our region (oral / written / interpersonal)
- Demonstrated analytical and strategic skills including forecasting and planning
- Working experience showing the ability to understand and interpret needs of different stakeholders as well as aspects of the financial services business
- Ability to travel regularly (as needed) within region and occasionally internationally
