The mold release agent releases the components from the mold on completion of the curing process, and prepares the tools for use by the molding workshops.

    Scope of Activities

    To carry out some or all of the following activities:

  • Before starting work, check off the points listed in the startup OK
  • Collect the instruction sheet, tooling, fabric kit and manufacturing file
  • Check the input points: tooling number, file and tracking sheets
  • Check the kit service life sheet to ensure that the fabrics concerned are still within date
  • Check that all cuts are present
  • Sequence the plies chronologically to maximize cleanliness by avoiding unnecessary handling
  • Follow the procedure set out in the manufacturing file in the form of sequential instruction sheets and drawings
  • Check the numbering and apply the fabrics and Nida reinforcements
  • Put together a curing assembly for compaction
  • Lay up in successive layers and repeat the compaction cycle as specified in the instruction sheet
  • Check the positioning of the plies: template, line, laser, etc.
  • At the end of the layup process, create a sealed curing assembly by incorporating the suction pipes/vacuum valves and - if necessary - thermocouple probes in accordance with the standards and instruction sheets
  • Complete the traceability documents: tracking sheet, self-checking sheet (FAC) and tooling
  • Write the part number, program and curing temperature on the components, and write the leakage rate detected on the FAC
  • Make the whole set of documents and tracking sheet available to the oven workshop
  • Depending on the organizational structure, take the parts to be released from the mold, remove the curing assembly and release the component from the mold (the technicality of this operation will depend on the type of component concerned)
  • Depending on the organizational structure, once the component has been released from the mold, clean the tooling in accordance with the manufacturing file, before removing it for storage or for a new molding operation
  • Complete the mold release traceability documents (tracking sheet, self-checking sheet, etc.)
  • Make a visual inspection of the component (delamination, abnormal plies, etc.), and if requested to do so, follow instructions to make an inspection using measurements and tolerances (probes), then complete a report/FAC for certain components, which will then be added to the manufacturing file
  • Alert the Team Leader or Workshop Manager of any faults or uncertainties, so that they can then inform the inspector (direct procedure in case of absence)
  • Wear the appropriate PPE
  • Respect the HSE instructions
  • Contribute to the analysis of defective components as part of the ongoing commitment to quality improvement.

    The activities are to be adapted for employees on work/study contracts (vocational training contracts, apprenticeship contracts, etc.) to remain consistent with their theory training.

  • Address and resolve QSE alerts raised by personnel
  • Ensure that your team has the skills required for their jobs (QSE training, accreditations, etc.)
  • Support QSE maturity development in your sector
  • 10 years' experience
