Project Liberty's McCourt Institute


The McCourt Institute, established in 2021 with founding partners Sciences Po in Paris and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., aims to ensure that sound digital governance and informed policymaking is prioritized in the development of new technology and embedded in the next generation of the web.

The Institute works to enhance digital governance by supporting timely, actionable research on ethical technology and serving as a meeting ground for technologists, social scientists, policymakers and governance experts, and leaders from the public and private sector.

The Institute is part of Project Liberty, an international non-profit initiative that seeks to transform how the internet works, create a more equitable digital economy, and develop a new civic architecture for the digital world.

Position


The McCourt Institute is preparing for a phase of rapid growth to advance its mission, and therefore is seeking an experienced administrative professional who will support the Executive Director (70%) and manage on-site operations at our Paris, France office (30%).

Under direct supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the following:


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Organize, maintain calendar, and schedule appointments and travel for the Executive Director
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations for the Executive Director
  • Submit and reconcile monthly expense and reimbursement reports
  • Maintain a wellequipped, clean, and secure office: manage inventory of office supplies, liaise with IT support services and other vendors for catering, security, and equipment
  • Handle administrative requests and queries from colleagues across McCourt Institute, Project Liberty and partner entities
  • Prepare physical space for onsite meetings including technology set up, catering and guest access
  • Assist in onboarding new hires: computer orders, IT set up, training schedules, etc.
  • Adhere to and promote the values of the Institute

Desired Qualifications:

  • 35 years of progressively complex administrative and customer service experience supporting senior leadership or Clevel executive(s) Demonstrated experience with complex calendar management and travel booking Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French required Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and in Google productivity software (Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, etc.) Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and composition Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability interact positively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment Ability to travel as needed
