Job Description:


JOB OVERVIEW


The Retail Manager, France is responsible for developing and executing short and long-term retail strategies and maintain ongoing relationships with Key Retailers (including Buyers and Marketing Teams, as well as Top Management where relevant) from different channels (Specialist, Grocery, Value, E-Commerce) for the local market that leverages the richness of NBCUniversal's entertainment content.

The role will report to the Category & Retail Director, France.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Development of local retail strategy by assigned retailer type and by category to achieve/supports organizational objectives including, market share, volume, revenue, placement and brand awareness.
  • Constant liaison with the Category & Retail Director, France and French Team members (Fashion & Living, Hardlines, Food Beauty and Care, Marketing) to ensure strategy alignment across business units and other accounts in and outside of the territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of retail trends, key seasonalities, buying cycles and changing dynamics for local market.

Sales & Marketing

  • Develop, maintain, and drive relationships with assigned key buyers and decision makers in conjunction with category teams to drive product placement in category and out of category.
  • Ownership of relationships with licensing and marketing functions within assigned local retail accounts.
  • Work on the creation and delivery of targeted retailer presentations to pitch, support or launch licensing programs.
  • Analysis of business performance for assigned key retail accounts and development of objectives and strategies to drive growth.
  • In conjunction with the Category & Retail Director, identify new business opportunities across local retail base to support incremental revenue growth new categories and growing retailers.
  • Joint business planning with key licensees to deliver retail plans and to ensure crosscategory engagement/participation.
  • Secure investment for assigned accounts from the local retail marketing budget, ensuring a maximum ROI;
  • Attendance and presentation participation in licensee/partner presentations.
  • Oversee and monitor retail financials in market including market share by retailer, overall retail sales by property and annual growth plans.

Qualifications:


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent salesperson and commercial thinker. Ability to open doors and build relationships.
  • Idea generator and ability to execute creatively.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills. Good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to sell ideas and concepts to people.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Team Player. A sociable personality.
  • Driven, passionate and highly motivated.
  • Not afraid of setbacks and a can do attitude.
  • Licensing and/or retail background essential. Knowhow of Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, Social Media and/or the Licensing industry is a bonus.
  • Experience in the Toys and /or Hardlines Industry would also be very appreciated.
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning and retail trends.
  • Fluent in French and English.
