    The aim of the 'Maizières Products' research centre is to contribute to an ArcelorMittal differentiated product offer (versus other steelmakers and competitive materials) through the development of new steels adapted to automotive customers' need evolution. Our main activities are related to the development of new steel products, building up in-use guidelines to facilitate the introduction of these products to the customers and to give technical support to customers and plants.

    ArcelorMittal is developing third generation of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) specifically for OEMs who utilize cold stamping and forming technologies. Significant weight savings can be realized thanks to their excellent mechanical properties.

    Your role

    You will join a team of specialists in forming and rheology in Maizières-lès-Metz with strong worldwide relationships with other ArcelorMittal R&D labs.

    As a research engineer in tribology, you will :

    • Lead technical supports for ArcelorMittal plants and carmakers to solve specific issues
    • Participate actively to on-going projects and take the lead of projects as project manager in the field of Tribology including digitalization and data science aspects
    • Manage experimental studies combined with modeling aspects to be able to continuously improve Forming numerical simulation accuracy
    • Analyze a large number of data extracted from our data bases in order to find correlations between products/process parameters and product behavior

    Your profile

    • You hold a Master's degree or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
    • A professional experience in the field of tribology and Forming numerical simulations would be a plus.
    • You have skills in experimental work and in scientific modeling in the field of mechanical engineering (solid).
    • You have the ability to write technical reports both with analysis and synthesis mind.
    • You are advanced in English.
