Key Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate EDX, EBSD, WDX and BEX and any future NanoAnalysis products. These demonstrations will be in either in the office, customer sites, OEMs or any other site deemed appropriate. These demonstrations will primarily be for the countries covered by the French office, but on request and after consultation may be in international territories.
  • Run analysis on customers samples and provide reports. The types of samples provided vary considerably, you will be expected to investigate the best method for their analysis.
  • Support the French sales and service team with your knowledge during preliminary customer calls, demos, workshops, conferences, and customer training.
  • Run workshops and training courses internally and externally i.e. Customers, OEM's, etc.
  • Train and support customers and other company employees in all aspects of product hardware, techniques and software on and off site.
  • Furnish leads for system sales, support contracts and other market intelligence based on customer relationships.
  • Attend relevant conferences/user meetings as an OI representative, primarily in the French office Territories. Give talks at these conferences/ user meetings when required.
  • Create monthly EDS/EBSD and WDS blogs in French for the existing platform.
  • Respond to all support requests in a timely manner.
  • Work patterns are flexible and will involve travel and/or working outside of normal working hours, when necessary.

  • The individual will be selfmotivated who can manage their own time resources. They will be under mínimal direct supervision.
Person Specification


Education / Qualifications:


  • An MSc or PhD in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or Geology.
  • Experience in microanalysis in academia and/or industry.
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), Spanish language skills would be a plus.
  • A Valid Driver's Licence (B)

Professional Skills/ Abilities:


  • Selfmotivated, can work effectively with little supervision.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for material science.
  • At ease with technology, hardware and software.
  • Practical experience using EDS/EBSD analysis equipment in a research environment. Experience with WDS would be an advantage.
  • Organised, with solid administrative/reporting skills and proficient PC skills including MS Office.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Experience with the development and implementation of training materials/ technical documentation.
  • Experience working across departments (i.e. sales, marketing and development teams)

  • Good allround communication skills.
  • Strong ability to quickly gauge the experience and technical level of the customer/ prospect and support/train at the best level to match.
  • Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise, plan, focus, and bring projects to completion within deadlines.
  • Takes responsibility for his/her own work and seek ways to continually improve the level of customer satisfaction, internally and externally.
