Job description:


The Tooling Support engineer has a solid experience and skills in tool design and life management, thought out to secure and support our engineering and manufacturing environment.

He works closely with the complete organization and each equipment suppliers to achieve his tasks.


Main missions, Objectives and KPIs related

  • Establish a clear and structured portfolio of tooling in place at each manufacturing site.
  • Manage tooling versions through projects life.
  • Formalize equipment MBOM with a focus on tooling.
  • Pilot new tooling requirements, driven by products change or modification as well as process improvements.
  • Design tooling directly when possible, or involve and supervise 3rd party.
  • During new industrial projects, with inputs from the industrial engineers, analyse the process flow of our manufacturing lines to identify the needs in tooling, and participate in the RFQ definition.
  • Qualify new tooling solutions before implementation in our existing factories or future manufacturing lines.
  • Write new tooling technical specifications in respect of the industrial constraint and the technical requirement. Review and validate the specification with a crossfunctional team. Then share the specification with potential equipment supplier during a Request For Quotation process and analyse the suppliers technical solutions to select, in collaboration with purchasing team, the best solution in term of total cost of ownership, schedule and technical proposal.
  • Lead the selected suppliers during realization of the purchased tooling in order to respect the objectives of safety, quality, cost, performance and leadtime.

Following the different equipment realization phases:
design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning.

  • Perform tooling checks at supplier if relevant, and pilot the reception at ACC (sampling or 100%).
  • Deploy solution and good practice in all ACC battery manufacturing plants, with tooling installation, ensure setup, (initial calibration), operational training, documentation.
  • Establish regular follow up and continuous improvement routines.
  • Support tooling implementation in systems such as Sharepoint or PLM/teamcenter.
  • Technical perimeters:_
  • 1. Electrical treatment = processes of electrolyte filling, soaking, breathing, leak test, final sealing and welding, electrical formation (chemical transformation of the cells under specific current and temperature conditions) and electrical control of the cells (grading, voltage, internal resistance, autodischarge )_

Knowledge / Know how

  • Master with tooling design and related system implementation in an industrial environment.
  • 2D and 3D design knowhow.
  • Product life and Data management.
  • Manufacturing environment, automotive technical awareness to be quick and efficient to adapt.

Experience
5 to 10 years of experience in product life management


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Sciences in Data engineering or general engineering
  • English is mantadory
  • French & German optional.

Some extra skills which make the difference

  • Previous experience in gigafactories or Energy storage systems
  • Process awareness: technical knowledge related to electrical treatment.
