In order to foster internal mobility and development wintin Ipsen, this opportunity can be a short-term assignment internally (5 months)

Summary / purpose of the position
The Business analyst acts as the Finance Business Partner for Business Units, Medical and affiliate support functions. The Business analyst is also accountable for local controlling activities in France.

He/she is responsible for coordinating the reporting/planning/forecasting cycle and is the primary contact for challenging and providing an appropriate, timely and accurate analysis of the performance as well as recommending corrective action plans when needed.


The Business analyst operates within the scope of the 2nd biggest commercial affiliates of the Group and within the framework of the Company and Group accounting policies.


Main responsibilities and tasks

Business Partnering

  • Actively support the business heads and their teams through sound analyses on the performance and the followup actions.
  • Perform financial analysis to support management in making effective business decisions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on how to improve performance.
  • Provide analysis of products P&L and ensure appropriate allocation of resources between departments and brands.
  • Act as Primary interface with Ipsen Corporate Finance as far as French Operations are concerned, maintaining regular communication and planning.
  • Ensure training on all finance processes for nonfinance people, specifically for newcomers.

Planning cycle & monthly reporting:


  • Responsible for delivery of 5 Year Plan, Annual Budget and Forecasting for French Operations in accordance with local and Group reporting requirements, standards and deadlines with meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
  • Build Budget and Forecast in cooperation with budget holders.
  • Prepare pharmaceutical taxes calculation.
  • Responsible for coordinating and completing monthly analysis and commentary by the required deadlines and, review with business heads.
  • Review and prepare monthend journal entries in the areas of PO accruals in coordination with shared services.
  • Control on HC/FTE and Salary mass in collaboration with controlling shared services.

Internal control project management and financial systems improvement

  • Provide financial information and support to external auditors when needed.
  • Interact with affiliates controllers and provide local financial guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain systems and Financial Internal controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance Ipsen's values.
  • Coordinate and act as support for other departments. Work in cross functional teams across the company in support of operational targets, objectives, and management reporting.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the Financial Shared Service Centers, Salary Mass Controlling teams and Purchasing teams on Purchase to Pay compliance and with E&C on Transparency related topics
  • Participate in a wide variety of adhoc projects

Others:

Knowledge, abilities & experience

Experience:

5-10 years of Business Partnering, controlling or audit.

Operational Excellence 'mind-set' to improve processes.

Excellent soft skills with a track record of working in cross-functional and international teams as well as matrix organisations.

Ability to collect, analyse and report on critical business metrics.


Must have the ability to clearly identify developing problems using initiative and independent judgment to address and take immediate corrective actions.

Experience in project cost management is a plus.


Linguistic Skills:

French and Excellent English capability both written and spoken.


Communication (Level/Nature):

Skilled and adaptable communicator across the entire grade range of the Ipsen Group.

Able to influence, persuade, negotiate, and compromise.

Able to chair and lead discussions.

Excellent listening skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.


Key Technical Competencies Required
Strong agility with Information systems. Knowledge of SAP is a must, Cognos TM1 Key User experience is a real advantage.

Familiar with IFRS accounting
