    Job Description


    It's an exciting time to be part of the IFF regulatory team. the Specialist, Hazard Communication is responsible for reviewing and classifying ingredients and substances and supporting the maintenance of hazard and transport classifications of all materials within IFF.

    The classifications are used for safety data sheets, labels, shop floor papers and transportation documents, to ensure compliance with employment regulations and regulatory authorities.

    You will spend your time doing:

    Classification of pure substances using data obtained via industry associations, vendors and the IFF GRA Toxicology team.

    Classifications of pure substances are completed daily based on priority.

    Classification of real substances by clearing SAP Workplace blocks.

    These blocks are cleared daily based on priority An SOP is maintained for how to resolve each block.

    Participating in integration and other projects involving hazard and transport classification data to ensure our customers are not impacted.

    Ensuring timely completion within project scope or escalating to management prior to deadline.

    Providing customer support for inquires and specific document requests. These typically originate from the shared HazCom mailbox and are handled daily.

    Providing support to IT for technical issues and classification rule updates in the PLM system

    Assisting IT to troubleshoot errors impacting classifications or related documentation.

    Job Requirements


    Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

    5 years of experience in regulatory affairs with a flavor and/or fragrance company

    Experience with SAP

    Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations

    Knowledge of the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and EU regulation 1272/2008 (CLP)

    Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets

    This position will require the applicant to work closely with other departments within IFF including global procurement, quality, and creative and applications.
