Job description:


Context


The market penetration of electric vehicles is accelerating, as a consequence the whole industry is under heavy pressure to ramp-up the production capacity and design batteries that continuously increase performance and reduce cost while maintaining the highest level of safety.


In the context of a complex and rapidly evolving battery value chain, of a competitive landscape dominated by Asian players, of a battery technology requiring important R&D and CAPEX investments, the ACC Strategy function is to formalize, challenge, foster and reinforce ACC competitive advantage in a sustainable way.


Overall job definition
The Strategy Manager is responsible for the following actions:

  • Formalize strategic vision and update accordingly strategic documents including ACC Strategic Statement, Context analysis map, Risk & Opportunities map, ACC various roadmaps
  • Capture trends and weak signals, analyze and synthetize information,
  • Build and propose evolution of ACC strategic positioning to ExCom
  • Lead and coordinate all ACC stakeholders on assessment, prioritization, and execution of various strategic opportunities, such as:
  • New market entry (region, product, industrial footprint, commercial strategy) in coordination with Marketing and with Sales
  • Strategic partnership with coopetitor, customers, suppliers or any kind of partner, as lead or in support with relevant ACC function
  • Competition landscape analysis and transversal benchmarking (in close collaboration with Marketing, Innovation, Intellectual, Engineering, Industrialization,)
  • Organization evolution
  • Support Business plan activity by Finance team and roadmapping activity from each Direction, ensuring global coherency with ACC strategy


She / he is supported by adhoc project internal teams, and on a case by case basis by consultancy firms, by secondees and by interns.

The Strategy Department is aimed at


She / he should be an experienced manager, strongly business minded, able to address a Volatile Uncertain Complex Ambiguous VUCA environment while proposing pragmatic proposals.

She / he should have leadership, synthetical and effective communication, negotiation skills, team spirit to coordinate efficiently all ACC functions transversely.

She / he would need to have a previous operational experience, preferably in the automotive industry, either with a OEM or a Tier1 player.


She / he should be able to work directly with ACC ExCom members and address senior executives of various external entities.

She / he will report to the VP Sales, Marketing & Strategy.


External relations
Interactions with our OEM customers, with ACC shareholders, and with multiples external partners, from consultancy firms to governmental authorities.


Location
ACC office (Paris, Bordeaux), combined with remote work aligned with operational priorities. Some traveling required.


Profile:


Knowledge / Know how
Very knowledgeable person about automotive area, hybrid experience in operational position and in strategy position.

Know-how about battery industry and/or electric vehicle battery industry is mandatory.


Experience (domain, number of years)
At least 10 years of experience.


Qualifications (diplomas, )
German or French as first language mandatory. English mandatory.


Key behaviours
Autonomous, Responsible, Committed, Capable of managing international and complex projects.


Some extra skills which make the difference
Experience with one of the big 6 battery suppliers (CATL, LG, Samsung SDI, SK Innovation, BYD or Panasonic).

Experience on battery.
