The Team:


The Mattel Consumer Products organization are responsible for providing direction for the development and implementation of the licensing strategy for the Mattel brands, finding opportunities to grow our brands beyond the core toy spaces they are rooted in.

This team is responsible for bringing some of the most loved and iconic lines to the market


The Opportunity:


We have an exciting opportunity to join the Mattel Consumer Products team in a role with focus on the French Market.

Based out of our Fresnes offices, however, with full flexibility for hybrid home/office working, you'll report directly to the Head of Consumer Products, France.


You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day licensing business relationships in France covering all Hardlines partners (Toys, Stationery & FMCG), Publishing partners and HBA (Health & Beauty) - delivering all aspects of partner management, whilst driving EMEA Top partners in France as per the EMEA Hard Lines strategy.

You'll be accountable for identifying, pitching and negotiating new business opportunities, and drive day to day liaisons with internal & external stakeholders.

You will lead French Hard Lines retail strategy and build relationships and programs with leading French retailers.

You'll be aligned as category lead for a number of assigned categories including but not limited to:
Toys, Sporting, Greetings, FMCG, Promotional, Puzzles, HBA, publishing.


What Your Impact Will Be:


FRENCH LICENSEE MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage all existing French licensing deals, including master toy and licensee relationships.
  • Deliver France CP strategy.
  • Own France Retail strategy for Hard Lines and drive these relationships with CP programs. Work with Mattel retail team to deliver best in class programs.
  • Deliver detailed JBP per France partners that includes forecast, budget, stretch targets, retail & marketing calendars and FR relevant product line plans for the country.
  • Drive EMEA Hard Lines Top partners in the French market, as per EMEA HL Strategy.
  • Pitch and marketing presentations across Mattel's IP portfolio of brands.
  • Manage extension of local deals into additional EMEA countries.
  • Conduct biweekly 1:1 meetings, arrange quarterly business reviews, biannual top to tops and track financial goals through forecasting and ambitious sales targets.
  • Deliver and ensure detailed joint France marketing plan per partner that includes licensee investment that is aligned with Mattel CP goals. Ensure marketing support for top items.
  • Be Internal Point person for each licensee to ensure local markets are driving the strategy and goals for partners.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Research, identify and pitch new category opportunities and prospective clients.
  • Secure new licensing deals and negotiate renewals.
  • Attend industry Trade Fairs or category specific shows.

STRATEGY:

  • Support EMEA Hard Lines Category Lead on key strategy for region.
  • Analyze the market with SWOT, Gaps, opportunities, category priorities.
  • Research, identify and pitch new category opportunities and prospective clients.
  • Keep current with changing trends & competition
  • Work closely with the Product Development, Creative and Quality & Assurance teams on getting first class product to market.
  • Work closely with Retail Development, Digital, PR, Regional Franchise and Local Brand teams to develop joint business plans.
  • Implement marketing and promotional strategies in liaison with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Gather and share category best practice from across the EMEA region with local teams.
  • Help find innovative ways to grow the business.
  • Manage extension of local deals into additional EMEA countries.
  • Gather and share category best practice from across the EMEA region with local teams.
  • Prepare brand pitch and marketing presentations across Mattel's IP portfolio of brands.

MAIN KPI's:

  • Ensuring Mattel hit financial targets within category.
  • Drive Market share growth.
  • Work with integrated retail and marketing teams to delivery strong category plans.
  • Joint Business Plan for biggest licensees (Retail, marketing).
