The Central Business Development team, part of the Global Business Unit Flexible Generation and Retail, is the entity:

  • In charge of coordinating the deployment efforts of GBU FG&R entities of ENGIE active on hydrogen, while ensuring the global consistency and the deployment of synergies within the group
  • Providing business support in the following fields : Strategy, Public Affairs, Market activation, Communication, Market and Animation oversight,
  • Activating very large external & internal networks of people and competencies in different geographies around the world within and outside of Engie
  • Being customer and business oriented, offering fit for purpose solutions in a cocreation mode
  • Pushing the boundaries of new technologies & financing schemes


The Apprenticeship will be attached to the subsidy activities of this team and offers a unique opportunity to participate to a fast-growing energy business and market and be close to project development teams.

More specifically, "Subsidy activation" is an activity aiming to support hydrogen projects across geographies to secure public support.

As such, the activity consists of

  • Identifying grant / financial support mechanism in liaison with the Hydrogen Public Relation team that could be of interest for ENGIE's projects.
  • Analyze these financial support mechanism and share the analysis with relevant projects t(eg projects that could be eligible)
  • Help projects prepare for a submission to a subsidy scheme (eg make a planning, identify resources, send RFQ in case of external consultancy )
  • Support project on the submission file by either drafting some elements of finding relevant information in our data base
  • Structuring "Lessons learned" for each financial scheme to which projects have applied to understand in detail best practices
  • We are working in an agile organization in collaboration with business, technical, financial and communication departments.
  • We promote collective support and cultivate the culture of feedback
The mission in this apprenticeship consists in contributing to each of these tasks. The support of this very transversal activity can shift according to business priority & need for support.


Qualifications

  • You are a student at least at Master's degree level in a Business School or top level University, specialized in Management, Energy, Finance, Regulation or Political Science, who also is interested and welling to understanding more technical matters (such as the building of hydrogen plants)
  • You speak and write fluently in English, another language (Spanish, French, Portuguese, German ) will be a plus ; past experiences in English and/or in an Englishspeaking professional environment would be a plus. You are good at summarizing and synthesizing information.
  • You have an understanding of financial concepts (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash)
  • You have strong analytical skills, enabling you to understand promptly new concepts (these will include for example regulatory topics, project development, environmental impact topics)
  • You are a user of Office 365 tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint )
  • You are interested in renewable energies and hydrogen
  • You are enthusiastic and want to learn and understand
  • You are a teamplayer, open to diversity and easily adapt to different cultures
