    Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will be a key member of the plant leadership teams, serving as a business advisor as well as liaison with WestRock divisional and corporate management teams. You will be fully engaged in plant productivity and process improvement projects and serve as a champion of the culture. You will provide reliable, useful, and analyzed financial information that contributes to continuous improvement and participate in decision-making that includes both financial and operational viewpoint. You will keep accounting in a manner ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.

    How you will impact on WestRock:

  • The lead of a small local finance team
  • Coordination of all budgeting and forecasting activities for the site. This includes co-working on developing budgets into the final phase per customers/cost centers/areas of responsibility/accounts or any other requested level of detail
  • Reconciliations of actual plant P&L to the budget including variance analysis, communication of results to the site manager, and preparing analyses, reports, and participation in necessary corrective actions.
  • Hands-on participation in the process of Key Performance Indicators creation, verification as well as analysis of trends and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Active participation on and validation of company Performance Excellence projects including reporting.
  • Review of plant-related cost accounting including work order accounting, standard costs control, analysis of actual to standard costs, hourly rates preparation and support of the commercial team as well as estimation process.
  • Support in the implementation of new finance and company IT solutions and processes.
  • Work in conjunction with the Internal Controls and Compliance Lead for Europe to ensure SOX Compliance. Target consistency of controls and process across all of F&B. Where deficiencies are identified support the local team to the mitigate this risk by drawing on best practice from across the business.
  • Preparation of capital budgets and forecasts
  • Promote Financial best practice and standardized working practices across the wider F&B finance team.
  • Stand in where necessary for Regional Finance Manager
  • Support with the Annual Balance Sheet Reviews and any other Ad-hoc business requirements
  • Maintain key relationships with the System implementation teams, Corporate Reporting/Head of Accounting, Controls and Compliance Team and Internal Audit.
  • Any other projects and ad-hoc work as required
  • What do you need to success?

  • Finance / Controlling Education
  • Previous financial manufacturing background with > 7 years of demonstrable experience gained in large international organizations
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English language
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems. Radius, SAP, Hyperion an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Packages including highly competent in Microsoft Excel
  • Worked in a control-based environment
  • Strong people management skills and people influencer
  • Proactive and hardworking and someone who can build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of excellent analytical, numeracy, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Flexible individual willing to take on tasks outside the list above and taking ownership of all assigned tasks
