    About the job

    General objective:

    The program manager is in charge of implementing and achieving the objectives defined in the proposals.
    He/she is in charge of supervising the operational teams allocated to his/her program.
    He/she guarantees the proper execution and the quality of the implemented program and, if applicable, suggests adjustments or developments to ensure its relevance.

    The main challenges:

  • Due to the ongoing conflict, SI Sudan mission increase a lot his activties and fundings, and opened new base in El Fasher, North Darfur
  • Set-up the WASH program team (recruit, train, and follow)
  • Highly need of improving quality of data collection and reporting
  • Highly volatile context, day to day security monitoring, cross-bording operations from Chad to El Fasher
  • Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

  • Implement the emergency response in WASH in North Darfur
  • Ensure the good set-up and training of the WASH team
  • Ensure good quality of data in coordination with the MEAL team
  • Ensure good reporting, and proactive need assessment
  • Opening of El Fasher base: security challenges, access challenges, logistic challenges
  • Ensure good coordination with local authorities, with local and international partners for the response
  • Ensure capitalization for the emergency response

    Education / academic background:

    Master degree in WASH

    Specific skills and experience:

  • 3-4 years experience in the humanitarian sector
  • 3-4 years on a similar position
  • Strong experience in WASH emergency programs with a young team
  • Experience in set-up and capacity building of team in opening context
  • Good problem solving skills in day to day and crisis situations
  • Work under a lot of pressure
  • Adaptability
  • Strong initiatives and improvisation capacities
  • Language:

  • English fluently
  • French
  • Arabic would be a strong asset
  • SI will offer you

    A salaried position:

    According to experience, starting from EUR gross per month ( base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD .

    SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

    Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one additional rest day per month worked.

    Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

    LIVING CONDITIONS:

    El Fasher and Darfur states in particular are very tense. El Fasher sees still open conflict inside the city, curfew is in place and restrictions of mouvement (daily validation).

    In El Fasher, accomodation are good, but due to tense security situation and the huge workload, entertainments are few. Curfew in place from 5pm to 7am. Another INGOs with expats is present also. Be able to live under a huge workload and a lot of security issues.
