As the Senior Director of Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in driving the data-driven initiatives and advancing understanding of genomic data. You will lead a talented team of data scientists and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to unlock insights from large-scale biological datasets. Your expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and computational biology will be instrumental in shaping research strategies and driving innovation in personalized medicine.

Key Responsibilties:

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance and expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and computational biology.
• Develop and implement cutting-edge algorithms and methodologies to analyze genomic data and identify actionable insights.
• Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to design and execute data-driven research projects.
• Drive innovation in data science techniques and technologies, staying abreast of the latest developments in the field.
• Translate complex biological questions into quantitative problems, and develop analytical solutions to address them.
• Partner with bioinformatics teams to integrate genomic data with clinical and molecular data for comprehensive analysis.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and publications.
• Collaborate with external partners and academic institutions to advance our understanding of genomics and personalized medicine.

Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent experience in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, with a focus on biological or healthcare applications.
• Proven track record of leading data science teams and delivering impactful projects in a research or industry setting.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java, with experience in data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.
• Deep understanding of genomics and molecular biology, with experience working with next-generation sequencing data and genomic databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Prior experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred, with knowledge of drug discovery and development processes.
