Gustave Roussy, Europe's leading cancer center, is recruiting a
Bioinformatician or Computational biologist to join our group Research Unit 1015, headed by Dr.

L.

ZITVOGEL, as part of Florent GINHOUX's team working on the
"IMMUNE-ORGANOIDS:
role of the immune system in the development of childhood and adolescent cancer"
project.


The position is for a 12-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of a 6-month extension).

Possibility of extension to a permanent site contract.


We will develop brain organoids from iPSC derived from children and adolescent with cancer, and measure the time-series transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics of tumor cells and microenvironment.

Single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and spatial transcriptomics will be conducted for the generated organoids. The work is based on our publications (e.g., Takata et al., Immunity, 2017;Dong et al. Nature, in press).

We are looking for someone with experience in single-cell RNA-seq data analysis, and multiomics data

integration.


Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree in bioinformatics/computational biology or a related field with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Unix, R, and advanced knowledge in commonlyused programming language, such as Python.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge in Linux shell scripting, high performance computing, and workflow management systems such as Snakemake or Nextflow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document methods and results clearly and concisely for tutorials and manuscripts
  • Ability to interact well with a broad constituency including students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and research staff.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Analyze data in collaboration with scientists generating sequencing data from organoids ("Immune
- organoids" project)

  • Work closely with Gustave Roussy faculty, postdocs, and students to advise on analysis of sequencing data and other biological 'big data.'
  • A key part of this responsibility will be to incorporate pedological best practices to build a highly valued set of training material.
