    Walter is recruiting for a

    Head of Global Reconditioning (m/f/d) – Location flexible

    In this position you are responsible to develop and coordinate all Walter reconditioning activities worldwide. This includes the strategy and the operations in close cooperation with all stakeholders within Walter and the Sandvik group.

    The development of the Reconditioning activities is a key initiative to support the Walter growth plans and the GoGlobal strategy, therefore the position holder is responsible that the footprint and the services offered are able to fulfill the requirements in terms of global presence, quality, lead time and cost.

    Your Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve safety record by addressing physical safety issues & employee safety needs. Make safety first in the work culture.
  • Responsible to ensure that operations are performed in accordance with our Code of Conduct and legal standards.
  • Set the culture of the direct reporting reconditioning centers in line with Sandvik core values. Ensure that leaders and managers act in accordance with our Leadership Model.
  • Further develop and implement reconditioning strategies and action plans to ensure that Reconditioning supports the Walter strategy.
  • Continuously monitor the company requirements, in cooperation with Sales and Product Lifecycle Management and adjust our reconditioning strategy to be able to offer the needed service worldwide.
  • Conduct business cases and pre-studies on demand and execute on them. Start-up new centers and/or restructure & develop existing centers in close cooperation with the Group.
  • Ensure that the reconditioning processes are in line with Walter and Group standards and directives.
  • Provide technical support and training to all reconditioning centers for new products and new processes. Validate and approve their service.
  • Provide support to all reconditioning centers so they can meet their service targets. Responsible to meet service targets for direct reporting centers.
  • Coordinate all reconditioning forecasts and investment plans related to reconditioning, both in existing and future centers.
  • Provide adequate KPI definition and monthly follow-up to trigger improvement activities within the reconditioning organization.
  • Strengthen knowledge and skills through continuous education on advancements in manufacturing, service, leadership, management concepts and theory.
  • Actively assess and develop workforce to meet current and future human resource needs.
  • Recruit and develop next generation leaders and talent.
  • Proactively interact with all stakeholders in Walter and the Group.
  • Acting as Chairman to the Sandvik Machining Solution Reconditioning Forum.
  • Your Profile:

  • University degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management in any leading cutting tools, automotive or light engineering Industry in the field of manufacturing in a multinational environment.
  • Minimum additional 2 years of experience in business development and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in large project management.
  • Strong Business Acumen with understanding of market trends and changes
  • Strategy and change management skills.
  • Technical knowledge in specific manufacturing field.
  • Strong Leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to influence and implement change process and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative and solution-oriented approach to problem solving with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in global business environment with diversified cultures.
  • Financial expertise including budgeting, investment planning, resource allocation to include full Reconditioning Centre P&L responsibility.
  • Skilled in EH&S and Risk management.
  • Strong Organizational and Interpersonal Communication Skills.
  • The position requires frequent travelling worldwide.
