Job Summary:

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, documentation, test, and commissioning of automation systems within constraints such as development cost and time, product performance, quality, safety.

In this job, the engineer is expected to work effectively with other engineering domains, such as mechanical, electrical, and computer science to automate equipment and/or processes related to the use of sensors, actuators, and IT infrastructure.


Needed expertise:

  • Automation workflows
  • Software control systems
  • Artificial Intelligence (optional).

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Develop and implement subsystems for industrial humanmachine automation systems
  • Analyze domain problems and identify, adapt, and/or develop technologies from the fields of artificial intelligence, automated and autonomous systems, and industrial automation to address them
  • Evaluate and develop systems that are relevant and applicable to decision making automated systems
  • Integrate systems and software considering personnel safety, process safety, information security, performance, and reliability.
  • Document and validate automated processes with domain experts

Qualifications:


  • BSc (Bachelor of Science) / MSc (Master of Science) or Engineering with automation experience or education in relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience, more experienced engineers may be considered.
  • Required Technical Skills_
  • Expertise in system integration of hardware/software systems
  • Ability to develop, understand and implement complex software sub systems
  • Expertise in artificial intelligence, such as, machine learning, automated planning and scheduling
  • Expertise in industry standards for automation
  • Expertise in intrinsically safe systems
  • Expertise in Allen Bradley/Rockwell ecosystem
  • Soft Skills_

  • Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies
  • Keeps abreast of key developments in relevant technologies and existing standards
