About the job


At RHI Magnesita we are looking for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for our RHI Magnesita plants in Valenciennes and Flaumont-Waudrechies.

These sites produce refractory products for our European customers, mainly in the cement and steel industry. In this role, you will monitor and coordinate all topics in the area of HSE.

This is a crucial role where you will enhance workplace safety by planning, implementing, and maintaining plant HSE policies and guidelines.

In doing so, you will work closely with the responsible authorities/institutions and advise the plant management with regard to the relevant standards, laws and measures.

With your relevant experience in occupational HSE, you will create the necessary conditions and then implement the respective tools and measures.

Additionally, the conception and support of training measures for managers and employees will also fall within your area of responsibility.


Your tasks will include

  • Inspecting the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks
  • Acting as the principal communicator with the governmental environmental service (DREAL)
  • Promotion of commitment to occupational safety at the sites
  • Recording and followup of measures
  • Ensuring that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed

Education & Skills

  • Degree with specialization in health, safety and environment.

Languages

  • English
  • Proficient/Fluent


  • French

  • Advanced
  • Any other language is considered as an asset

Work Experience

  • Several years of relevant working experience in HSE role
