  • Sales Manager Grid (M/F)

Areas of responsibility

  • The Sales Manager Grid will oversee sales and marketing activities on the following perimeter:
  • Managing spot projects segment in Europe in an opportunistic way
  • Managing TSC (Temporary Site Cable) business at EBIT level
  • Supporting Head of Sales Belgium in the frame management in Benelux

Key missions

Sales

Is responsible of top-line on his perimeter:

  • Secure margin volume & rate while selecting the best mix for the manufacturing unit using the Nexans SHIFT methodology: differentiated offer, yield management, EBIT and ROCE calculation per product / customer, profitability over risk ratio, portfolio classification ABCZ and complexity reduction
  • Remain in close contact with Head of Countries in our core markets and collect any new opportunities from our main TSO.
  • Setup a strategic surveillance on selected noncore market to collect any new opportunities to be released

Carries out sales activities in tendering process up to deal closing on his perimeter:

  • Build differentiation offer for main tenders
  • Gather plants technical and capacity constraints as well as business unit financial objectives. Ensures that all costs & risks are properly considered in the offer presented.
  • Challenges the inputs from the contributors to the tenders, to propose the most competitive solutions which shall meet the Customer requirements.
  • Ensures, with legal departments, that terms and conditions are adequate.
  • Manage the negotiations process with the customer, in cooperation with tender, technical and legal teams

Marketing

Provide inputs to global Grid sales and marketing strategy in the area of responsibility

  • Build a solid view of the market size through market studies and analyze market dynamics to identify market potential for Nexans.
  • Carry out dynamic market monitoring / intelligence on pricing trends, technical trends, competition, client's need evolutions and offer vs. demand equation.
  • Follow competition products and offer portfolio under all aspects
  • Collect and analyse customer feedback and customer needs to recommend future positioning

Position sizing

  • Strong exposure to Nexans senior management
  • As deputy of the Sales & Marketing Director Grid, the Sales & Marketing Manager contributes to key decisions made for GRID business unit
  • Grid is 200 to 250mEUR business, of which 30 to 50mEUR on the "Spot" perimeter
  • Spot projects may range from 0,5mEUR to 30mEUR approx
, usually turnkeys:

cable and accessories supply + cable installation services.

  • Will collaborate with sales, tenders, legal, engineering, finance, innovation labs, corporate, etc.

Requested Competencies and Qualification

  • MSc degree engineering or business school
  • At least 5 years sales and marketing experience or consulting
  • Excellent written and oral English, all other language is a plus
  • Strong data processing and analytical skills
  • Customer oriented
  • Known competence to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Ability to work out of silos and cooperate across a multidiscipline organization
