    Description

    Project Overview

Exploring new spin defects in two dimensional semiconductors is an active research area that emerged after the discovery of graphene.

The project involves fabricating 2D materials from bulk crystals using mechanical exfoliation,

creating spin defects with controlled density through high-temperature annealing,

and characterizing their spin properties at room and cryogenic temperatures using optical detection of spin resonance (ODMR).

This project aims to isolate single spin defects and demonstrate long spin coherence times.
