As the
Research Scientist in R&D Chemistry you will develop, prepare, execute and analyze research elements (e.g. problems, questions, ideas) in new products in line with the innovation pipeline, projects and R&D functional standards, in order to gain insight into new developments and contribute to the realization of strategic objectives of Polyplus.


MISSIONS

  • Delivering results on time for longer term projects, ensuring quality and feasibility, according to business needs
  • Functional guidance of junior chemists/technicians
  • Defines IP strategy in line with the innovation pipeline
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field.
  • Setsup, plans, executes, analyses, interprets and reports experiments within own unit
  • Keeps current on uses and improves relevant research methods in the field, ensures retention of knowledge through research reports
  • Participates in URS definition and ensures execution, and delivery of technical results
  • Formulates and presents solution directions and issues advice at request or at own initiative
  • Interacts with other departments (R&D, Production, QC/QA, Marketing)

PROFILE
-
PhD in chemistry / chemical technology with 2-3 years of experience or equivalent:

  • Indepth knowledge and hands-on experience in synthetic chemistry is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge in delivery technology and formulation is required
  • Sound knowledge and experience in structureactivity relationship study is required
  • Proven ability to take initiative and to perform duties in a selfdirected manner
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Indepth knowledge in scientific writing and technical reports
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and fluent in English
  • Additional Preferred Experience:_
  • Experience in DOE (Design of Experiment)
  • Knowledge in process transfer to production
  • Knowledge and experience in polymer chemistry (synthesis, analysis and characterization)
