Position Description
Sustainability & circularity supported by Data analytics

The internship will be to continue developing the methodology linked to Powertrain parts damage models & sustainability feature.

Replacing parts at workshop at right time (not too early, not too late) depending on the vehicle usage is key.

Defining the good re-direction of the worn parts in the Volvo circularity process is also key to optimize parts flow, define best second life of parts (repair, refurbish, remanufacture, recycle) depending on business, markets,criteria, and of course to limit Earth resources.

Damage models could be simple or more complex and so damage output could be more or less predictable information.

The internship will permit to explore as well the benefits to cross duty cycles simulated damages with real life usages damages and inverse.

The internship will use Data analytics and Artificial intelligence skills which are mandatory. Open-minding, curiosity, pro-activity are keys to dialog with stakeholders and navigate in this investigation methodology.

The internship will be in the Powertrain Engineering France (Lyon site) entity in the Simulations team handling mechanical, thermal simulations & Data analytics.

Internship start date is flexible and could be Spring 2024 during at least 5 months.
