Livelihoods Venture is our social business headquartered in Paris.

Our mission is to design solutions and bring together coalitions of actors who join forces to restore degraded natural ecosystems, build sustainable supply chains and improve the livelihoods of thousands of rural communities.

We invest in large-scale & transformational field projects all around the world to:

  • Empower smallholder farmers and rural communities with sustainable land practices,
  • Improved food security and income,
  • Restore degraded natural ecosystems and contribute to climate action,
  • Create value across sustainable agricultural and forestry supply chains.


Concretely, it means to identify, design, closely support and monitor community-based projects that are deployed by our local project implementers, most of the time local NGOs that we support in building capacity.

Our business model is based on engaging and coordinating large coalitions of actors (NGOs, investors, suppliers, public offtakers, private donors, banks, scientific advisors, etc...) needed to unlock change.

To join our team of talented, committed and agile professionals and support designing and implementing our projects, we are looking for a
Legal Officer

MISSIONS

Reporting to the Head of Legal, your responsibilities will cover:

  • Contracts: drafting, negotiating and adapting/updating according to the needs of the activity.
  • Contract management and contract management tools development and deployment.
  • Active participation in the set up and follow up of projects and structures, carrying out legal audits, assisting operational staff during contract negotiations.
  • Corporate and Governance ensure compliance with the legal rules governing the life of the companies and the Investment Funds in collaboration with local lawyers or contacts.
  • Legal secretariat of the French and Luxembourg companies (notably approval of accounts and monitoring of corporate life (changes in management, transfer of registered office, etc.).
  • Advise and assist on all legal issues : RGPD, compliance, litigation, taxation, employment law, regulatory issues.
  • Ensuring regulatory monitoring.
  • Informing and advising all internal teams on all matters relating to company and/or business law.
  • Ensuring the digitization of all data within the diligent tool and generally contributing to the improvement of the legal department's tools.

You have minimum 3 years of successful experience in a law firm and/or profit company and/or a non-for-profit public or private organization in a similar position in an international environment.
You will bring to the team:


  • Your proactivity, resilience and agility coupled with a recognized pragmatism; you are multitasker and can prioritize, deal with pressure, keep track of the progress of several tasks simultaneously and be ready to rearrange priorities in response to new information, with resistance to the unexpected.
  • Your ability to interpret, analyze and organize, as well as your rigor and ability to summarize.
  • Your skills in French and European business law and/or international law, acquired during your academic and professional career in a law firm and/or in a company, which have led you to develop an expertise in this field
  • Your excellent interpersonal skills and project management skills in small teams with partners all over the world which requires great adaptability.
  • Your
    excellent ability in written and spoken bilingual English, enabling you to work in an international environment and scope.
  • Your experience and/or skills in digitalized legal and contract management tools.
