    The role holder will be a member of the Specialty Insurance Management Team.

    The Head of Specialty Insurance Analytics and Business Insights drives the Specialty Insurance underwriting plan process (premiums, profitability, related supporting assumptions and resource requirements) as well as the underwriting performance analysis on a worldwide basis for both Single Risk and Portfolio Risk.

    The role holder also has responsibility for the Lloyd's Syndicate Business Forecast process and associated performance monitoring alongside Lloyd's stakeholder management duties.

    These responsibilities require an in-depth understanding of Specialty Insurance, beginning with knowledge of the strategic goals and planning of the business through to the pricing, risk control, execution, performance monitoring and financial reporting.

    The role holder is expected to critically review the business plan and performance and will therefore require analytical capabilities, experience, and the confidence to engage and challenge senior stakeholders.

  • In close coordination with the underwriting teams, be responsible for business planning (underwriting plan, strategic plan), reporting (quarterly reports, regular and ad hoc reports) and performance monitoring processes (periodical reviews with the underwriters) for Specialty Insurance and oversee their implementation by the Analytics and Business Insights team. These processes are key for the steering of Specialty Insurance and they involve frequent interactions with the Specialty Insurance CEO, Single Risk CUO, Portfolio Risk CUO and Specialty Insurance Management Team members.
  • As the owner of these processes, define the business specifications of the tools to be developed by the CTO team and IT to support these processes, with specific focus on data quality and 'single version of truth' approach.
  • Ensure the alignment of business planning (underwriting plan) and performance monitoring metrics (technical metrics, IFRS 17 metrics) and processes used by the Analytics and Business Insights team with the financial planning (operating plan) and performance monitoring metrics and processes defined by Finance. Recommend any enhancement to the Forplan planning tool.
  • Together with Pricing and Finance, define the economic value metrics to be used for the steering of the business and make them available to Chief Underwriting Officers and underwriters.
  • Liaise with Pricing and Reserving teams in order to feed and inform the business performance analysis
  • Carry out bespoke business performance analyses and facilitate informed decision-making by providing insights to the underwriting teams. Act as a source of knowledge and support for the UW teams, local management, P&C management, Strategy team.
  • Continue the convergence between the SCOR Syndicate and the Company processes for business planning and performance monitoring. This includes bringing the SCOR Syndicate planning and performance monitoring processes into the wider Specialty Insurance domain and, conversely, pursue the enhancement of the planning and performance monitoring process on the Company side.
  • Minimum of 10-year experience in the field
  • Knowledge of the planning and performance monitoring processes at Lloyd's
  • Knowledge of the planning and performance monitoring processes on the Company market
  • Familiarity with Specialty Insurance products
  • Strong command of insurance accounting

    Required Education
  • A higher education diploma in Actuarial sciences, Management, Finance, Strategy and/or equivalent discipline / related field.
