The HR Business Partner leads and manages the people management related agenda for their area of responsibility.

The position will work closely with our hotel General Managers, Head of Departments, HR colleagues and other key stakeholders to build capabilities, plan and develop talent, and provide recommendations to achieve the shared organisation objectives.


As part of the People Operations team, the HR Business Partner is a true generalist whose mission is to provide strategic and operational functional support to steer HR policy, particularly in the following areas: change management, talent and performance management, succession plans and talent groups, talent and acquisition, compensation and benefits, team relations, team recruitment, Team development, integration and training.


With a "can do" attitude, expect a stimulating challenge where you will support our People Managers and provide them with necessary skills to own their area of responsibility.

You have experience of coaching a vision and value driven leadership and ability to build trusted relations. You will have a very good knowledge and experience of French labour law/team relations issues and environment.


Whilst based from our Area Support Office in Paris, you will support multiple hotels which will require you to work between the office, home and the hotels you support so you must be prepared to travel.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the people management related agenda for your country of responsibility.
  • Ensure all elements of the employee life cycle are followed according to Company policy to ensure a motivated and engaged team member.
  • Work with the People Managers and HR colleagues to attract talent, build capabilities, plan and develop talents to meet business objectives.
  • Supervises, guides and ensures the development of your team; direct supervision of HR Coordinator and any other HR/Payroll resource as assigned
  • Provide input into organisation design discussions, support the area Learning & Development team in implementing global and local learnings as well as driving employee engagement, development and succession planning.
  • Support the leadership team on contractual matters in terms of documentation and advice.
  • Own, manage and resolve complex issues in labour relations, maintaining minimum risk and lowest cost to the group, ensuring compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations and keeping up to date on developments in labour law at national level.
  • Acts as the entity's contact point for all employee relations, manages risks for the group and acts as a trusted advisor; works collaboratively with local lawyers when needed and supports the hotel management in dealing with team representatives and/or trade unions at local level
  • In cooperation with Area Directors and the Hotel General Manager, ensures that the hotel/office complies with group policies and procedures and local legislation.
  • Ensures the proper execution of team matters and their registration at local level on the advice of specialized departments.
  • Manage absenteeism and cost
  • Implement the Company's performance management cycle and provide continuous support and advice to the People Managers.
  • Support the action planning derived from the Engagement Survey.
  • Ensure that team members are correctly rewarded and incentivised accordingly to company policy.
  • Benchmark of compensation / benefit packages and assisting with compensation queries as necessary.
  • Contribute and lead HR projects as needed and appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Sound active relationships; naturallygrounded, able to relate positively and sustainably with employees in operational and management/leadership roles with ease and confidence.
  • Able to support key stakeholders to meet commercial and talent objectives through the people operations function.
  • Able to manage complex, personal workload in a fast paced environment, ability to prioritise whilst ensuring quality results is essential.
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities for improvement and prepared to try out new or innovative approaches to deliver a business result.
  • Passionate about hospitality/tourism and making a difference to team member's development/career path.
  • Can work independently, selfdriven/motivated.
  • University degree in Human Resources, employee legislation or similar field is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, including HR experience, HR Manager/Business Partner level, multisite experience.
  • An expert in labour law, employee relations and legislation along with experience of organisational change.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Fluent English is required.
  • Knowledge of one or more HRIS systems, Workday experience is a distinct advantage.
