We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive Exterior Components (F/H) to join one of our clients in a demanding and innovation-driven technical environment.

Context

You will join the engineering team responsible for the development of vehicle exterior components, participating from the design phase through validation and vehicle testing.

Your role will be essential in ensuring technical feasibility, functional validation, and issue resolution during prototype and pre-series phases, while meeting technical, regulatory, and quality requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

• 3D CAD design of mechanical components and subassemblies
• Management of functional dimension chains and tolerancing
• Validation of interfaces with other vehicle systems
• Participation in numerical simulations (crash, stiffness, thermal behavior)
• Prototype follow-up and vehicle test support
• Technical issue analysis and resolution during development phases
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams (product, validation, industrialization)
• Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Environment

• 3D CAD tools
• Tolerancing and dimension chain management
• Structural and numerical simulation analysis
• Automotive product development processes
• Validation and testing procedures

Profile

• Experience in mechanical design within the automotive sector
• Strong knowledge of tolerancing and functional validation
• Experience in product development in an industrial environment
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Autonomous, detail-oriented, and results-driven

Additional Information:

• Contract type: Permanent (CDI) or Freelance
