To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Category Buyer.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for purchasing of specific production material for a Sub-Category in Y-EMEA in coordination with other regions.
  • Achieve a supply base performance, which is directed towards a total cost approach including quality, delivery, and service objectives.
  • Selected suppliers should deliver proactive on a longterm base cost savings / productivity, cost reduction proposals, product innovations and valueadded services at superior quality and delivery levels thus supporting Yazaki to offset the impact of increasing OEM's requirements.
  • Purchasing Negotiations
- contribute to the profit improvement (Cost Savings) of Yazaki worldwide business by pursuing optimum purchasing solution such as "Best Buy", LTA agreements, 1 to 1 replacements and other initiatives within the Sub-Category.

  • Supplier Strategies
  • Interregional Connection
- work in coordination with other regions to maximize levers in front of especially global suppliers.

  • Benchmark and VAVE initiate and support benchmarking activities and VAVE projects to control supply base performance and complexity and ensure implementation of cost reduction opportunities for new projects and current production within the Sub-Category.
  • KPI Monitoring and Reporting
- monitor and Report on performance indicators and control that agreed purchase and supply conditions and suppliers are maintained in the purchasing database.

  • Market Trends
- analyse and report on market trends to identify risks, opportunities, and innovations related to the Sub-Category.

  • Interdepartment Tasks (AP)
- negotiate and implement on defined commodity cost targets for individual OEM projects to achieve the project's affordable material cost targets.

  • AP and Engineering Support
- support Design Engineering and Advanced Purchasing during the project phases.

  • New Component Management
- support new components management with cost and capacity analysis including supplier timings.


Requirements:


  • University degree (Bachelor or Master's in economics or similar education)
  • Very good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office and SAP)
  • Excellent English skills on a business proficiency level (speaking and writing)
  • Experience in buying and conducting negotiation projects
  • Good presentation preparation and delivery skills
  • High analytical skills
  • Organise, delegate and control functional responsibilities
  • High personal motivation and ability to develop practical or innovative alternative approaches to meet objectives
  • Ability to give, receive and analyse information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Teamwork spirit
  • Selfmotivated and independent
