S&P Global Market Intelligence - CIS Sales Specialist


Company Information Services (CIS) enables our customers to analyze how companies are performing, from the critical financials to corporate structure, management, and unstructured data; creates peer benchmarks to serve a variety of use cases.

Our content combines public company and private company financials, estimates, transactions, relationships, industry classifications, people and ownership data linked through our cross-referenced security and entity master file that provides clients with an extensive, consistent, and standardized foundation for the mapping any data sources.

CIS encompasses Proprietary and 3rd party datasets that can be used with corporate and financial data to generate insights.

Additionally, CIS leverages the collection of Kensho analytical tools that can be comingled within existing datasets or enabled as standalone products.

Within our DVA business line, the CIS product suite coupled with our Pricing and Valuation services as well as Equities data set create a potential for product integration and unparalleled inn ovation.


The Role:


In this role, you are growing the CIS business as a sales specialist focusing on our CIS product portfolio with ability to market adjacent complementary services through direct feeds, API and Cloud based data delivery.

You can diagnose client requirements and with your CIS business development and Product partners, translate this into a solution-focused, workflow centric offering, often combining various solutions and data sets to match client requirements.

The team will reach across all account's segmentation (Strategic/Core/Primary) specifically focusing on financial institutions, corporate and technology/advisory services to offer a broader perspective.

Responsibilities:

Deliver New Business Sales for the product portfolio (all CIS data sets, ESG, Kensho services and third-party alternative data sets)

Investigate and grow renewals across the CIS portfolio and be responsible for the value proposition of the CIS business as well as grow the CIS book of business across renewals, greenfield, whitespace leveraging all CIS products including Kensho services and third-party alternative data

Access whitespace to grow your own portfolio and the CIS book of business

Develop industry specific knowledge necessary to have credible diagnostic conversations

Work closely with your business development/Product Specialist to identify new opportunities, new use cases within the designated territory and evolve pricing models

Establish appointments with senior level executives of these organizations

Stay current with industry news and issues to understand the potential impact to your current prospects to find new opportunities

Coordinate and provide sales demonstrations

Negotiate contract terms and pricing

Engage and collaborate with other Market Intelligence segments to guarantee the best client experience in team selling to all accounts in conjunction with Desktop Sales specialists and/or Account Managers in existing accounts


Basic Qualifications:

Independent, self-starter capable of working without close supervision or daily guidance

Strong business acumen with relevant industry experience and a consistent record in consultative sales

Team player with an ability to collaborate across functional and geographic boundaries

Experience selling complex data and/or technology solutions to financial institutions

Confidence in approaching new markets, navigating, and owning a territory and dealing with C-Level executives

Strong communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills
