Job Purpose:


We are looking for Regional LEAN Leader EMEA who can establish, coordinate, and provide leadership for improvement projects and EOS (EnerSys Operational System) implementation. These projects should be integrated with the region / plants Lean deployment efforts and meet the guidelines, criteria and metrics established by the business.

EOS is the EnerSys inhouse Lean deployment program launched in 2017, inspired by Toyota Production System and Danaher Business System

The role covers EMEA/APAC region (3-5 plants) and/or a technology group (ESA, TPPL,).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead regional improvement projects and effectively coordinate these projects with the regional operations management teams.
  • Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to perform team activities, leading teams to execute projects with the problemsolving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members.
  • It is also critical to identify integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.
  • Deploy regionally the EnerSys Operational System (EOS), train and coach operations managers and plant teams to the system.
  • Ensure 2way open communication throughout the organization based on results. Scope projects in support of the system and productivity.
  • Lead RIE's to deliver target improvement (Rapid Improvement Event = Kaizen Event)
  • Provide global EOS and regional operations managers with the results and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and business strategy.
  • Keep global EOS and regional operations managers informed of program status and ensure coordination of activities between other Plants. Also, this includes capturing project lessons learned that can be reused for other projects.

Requirements:


  • Ability to lead and direct an improvement team. Must be a results-oriented "change agent" who is an effective business systems thinker.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing the Business goals. Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.

Tool Box:


  • Waste Elimination, 5S, MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) and problem solving are the 4 foundations of any EOS implementation.
  • Strategy Deployment (X-Matrix) and VSA (Value Stream Analysis) are used to plan yearly EOS activities, RIE and A3 are the preferred execution options.
  • CCF (Creating Continuous Flow) using takt time, line balancing, standard work, SMED, Kanban,, is one of the EOS transformation paths.
  • Another one is MMF (Making Material Flow), with PFEP, water spider, supermarket, tugger trains, milk run, crossdocking and some more.
  • Finally, MIF (Making Information Flow) including master data, ERP, production wheel, EDI,is the third path to EOS.
  • EOS4.0 introducing paper to glass strategy, AR (Augmented Reality) and AI is the next must do.
