Description

Introduction to the job:

Are you challenged by the thought of providing outstanding service on the most innovative lithography machines of the world? We have multiple roles within ASML Customer Support, in the customer microchip manufacturing plant in Crolles, close to Grenoble.

If you enjoy ensuring that the most complex machines are successfully installed and running 24/7, then you'll find a challenging opportunity through our program at Europe's most valuable tech firm - ASML

Role and responsibilities:

ASML leads the worldwide development, production and sales of high-end lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. In short, we make the machines that make computer chips, or integrated circuits. It is because of our machines that the world's technology has steadily evolved.

Currently we have two different roles open within our Customer Support (CS) site with multiple open positions. Depending on your strengths, ambition and personal preferences we determine in which role you are best fit.

Our machines are assembled and tested in our manufactory in the Netherlands and shipped to the customer. Your role begins from the moment that the Install Engineer finishes the mechanical installation. You will execute the system setup and ensure that a fully running machine is delivered to our customer.

You do this via:

  • Following all the predefined steps and calibrating the machine to reach all the conditions and specs of our customer;
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems related to the installation in close cooperation with the system install owner and if needed with the Technical Support team in the Netherlands;
  • Provide feedback to improve cycle time and performance, utilize the zeroerror repeat concept;
  • Perform administrative duties which include procedure changes, passdowns, escalating system problems, material / tooling ordering and returning;
  • You will be an ASML ambassador at the customer site in France, sometimes in Italy and occasionally in Europe therefore, there will be between 50% to 60% of travelling.

As a Field Service Engineer, also called a First Line Engineer, it is your goal to make sure that our lithography systems at our customers' sites are running smoothly, 24/7.

In order to minimize the downtime you ensure that the machine is always in optimal condition, and if needed, plan scheduled down action for preventative maintenance.

In the case of a technical issue, you are responsible to make sure that the problem is solved as soon as possible.

You will be working in close collaboration with our customer.

You do this via:

  • Ensuring the preventative and curative maintenance of equipment;
  • Implement "software" and "hardware" updates;
  • Diagnose, analyze and solve complex technical problems;
  • Efficiently escalate the most difficult problems to our technical experts;
  • Develop a solid relationship with the client: technical assistance, advice and training;
  • Collaborate on various projects within the team and the company;
  • Most of the work is done in a clean room environment, under strict hygiene and safety conditions.
Start with an intensive international training program
To say that our systems are complex is an understatement. As such, you will receive a very intensive and in-depth training program.

The training program involves traveling throughout Europe, the US, and/or Asia, and will take a couple of months in duration (dependent on your role).Through this training, you will learn all the details of our machines, build experience on customer process, way of working, startup preparation, and technical knowledge.

Education and experience:

  • For the System Integration Engineer role we are looking for bachelor's or vocational degree (for French applicants: Technicien / Bac +2) and for the Field Service Engineer for bachelor and/or master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or other closely related studies;
  • Because of the complexity of the ASML machines, we're looking for people who not only learnt about engineering in theory, but also have some practical experience in (hands on) engineering;

Skills:

To thrive in this job, you'll need the following skills:

  • Broad technical interest and passion for hands-on engineering challenges;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Focused on safety first but with a 'can do' and 'will do' attitude;
  • Stress resistant and able to remain a structured way of working in a dynamic environment;
  • You are flexible. You need to be open to travel all over the world and work in shifts;
  • Proficient in the English language, both verbal and written. French is a plus;
  • You must have a valid driver's license in order to visit the customer site during the day and night.

Diversity & Inclusion:

ASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce. It is the policy of the company to recruit, hire, tra
