Post description:

As part of the development of our Digital Twin solution, you will work on the static and dynamic characterization of the load estimation methodology using an experimental setup of a simply supported beam already in place.

The apprentice will be in charge of the finite element modeling using the Ansys software and the calibration of the model via the modal frequencies of the system.

The project is divided into two main parts, one for the validation of inverse methods for the estimation static loads and the second for the estimation of dynamic loads.

Once the model is recalibrated, a sensitivity analysis should be performed to determine the number of measurement nodes needed for the accurate load estimation via inverse methods using static indicators.

Several numbers, types and directions of loads will be applied and tested.

An uncertainty propagation analysis should be performed to determine the uncertainties of the stress estimated from the uncertainties of the static input indicators.

Similarly, in the second phase, a sensitivity analysis is to be done using this time a vibrating pot.

An uncertanty analysis need to be done, this time based on accelerations as input indicator for estimation of the stress uncertanties.
