Reporting to the Africa Estimation Manager, the Estimating Engineer will be based in Suresnes office and will be in charge of establishing complete and competitive cost estimates in accordance with client requirements and the solution developed by Subsea7 for a wide range of services.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build up cost estimates of Commercial Proposals respecting internal rules and procedures.
  • Develop the execution plan with the Tender Lead and Commercial Lead with a continuous target to achieve a complete, accurate and optimized cost estimate.
  • Perform cost simulation to evaluate the execution alternatives and to support the Tender lead in the selection of the most cost effective solution.
  • Analyze the deliverables issued by all the departments involved in tenders and challenge where necessary in a collaborative and constructive manner.
  • Provide an early cost estimate upfront to support the other departments in establishing the priorities in close collaboration with the Tender Lead and the Commercial Lead.
  • Prepare the commercial deliverables for our proposal, especially the price schedule, unit rates and commercial qualifications.
  • Perform and optimize the cash flow analysis in order to obtain favorable payment conditions in the contract.
  • Evaluate the cost impacts during the contract clarification and negotiation phase.
  • Consolidate the assumptions and deliverables used to perform the Handover to the project team at contract award.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduated from engineering school.
  • 3/5 years technical experience in engineering, fabrication or operations department, ideally in the Oil & Gas subsea segment.
  • Proactive and curious. Willingness to understand the decision drivers, the technical solutions and to develop a winning offer.
  • Excellent work relationship skills.
  • Meticulous and organised while working on complex tenders
  • Independent and knowledgeable
  • Engaged and committed to meet tight deadlines.

PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Creative problem solving able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.
  • Sound communication skills able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously.
