Context


Within GEMS, the Business Platform Gas Assets & Developments Europe (BP GASDEVE) is the Origination platform with a mission is to "Drive a growing valuable gas midstream activity into a low carbon energy world".

GASDEVE has a Front to Back staff of 50 people located in Paris, Bucharest and Madrid, BP GASDEVE manages three business mandates for GEMS:


  • Contribute to fill the European Gas Supply Gap,
  • Develop Illiquid Gas Markets beyond North and South WE,
  • Develop Renewable and Low Carbon Gases and their Usages in Europe


In particular, BP GASDEVE is developing a portfolio of solutions and products to decarbonize our European gas business : CO2 CCS solutions and low-carbon & renewable hydrogen.

BP GASDEVE is engaging into H2 production and CO2 capture projects as off-taker and is building a new midstream business model linking production and demand through assets (transport, storage, liquefaction, sequestration).

We want to achieve a target of 30 TWh of hydrogen in GEMS portfolio by 2030 and be a leader in CCS solutions to large CO2 emitters.


To achieve these ambitions, GASDEVE is looking to recruit a Low-Carbon Gas Business Developer to develop CCS chains & solutions and H2 portfolio of projects.


Role
The Low-Carbon Gas Business Developer will be responsible for:
Carbon Capture & Sequestration

  • Prospecting and identifying opportunities to develop CCS chains within specific industrial basins in North West Europe between emitters and storage developers
  • Developing CCS solutions and structuring CCS offers to upstream, logistics and downstream counterparts in coordination with other members of the GEMS Low Carbon Cluster
  • Communicating/Training of GEMS sales teams in these solutions
  • Commercial and contractual negotiations with counterparts
  • Obtain all necessary mandates and approval to validate processes internally
Hydrogen

  • In coordination with other members of the GEMS Low Carbon Cluster and with ENGIE Green H2 F-GBU Team
- prospecting and identifying opportunities to develop H2 chains within specific industrial basins in North West Europe between producers and consumers
- contributing to develop and structure H2 offers to upstream and downstream counterparts
- participating in commercial and contractual negotiations with counterparts

Obtain all necessary mandates and approval to validate processes internally

Main activities

  • In coordination with GEMS sales teams, prospecting, identifying opportunities of developing CCS and H2 supply within specific industrial basins across North Western Europe
  • Participate actively in the GEMS Low-Carbon Cluster
  • Being proactive in understanding countries' regulations, e.g. on CCS, low carbon and renewable hydrogen, EU ETS, certificates, etc.
  • Supporting all other internal streams to ensure fronttoback processes and other necessary actions are in place

  • Building new business models on new assets
  • Developing a commodity in a changing market (open access infrastructure and market places under creation) with new kind of actors and risks within GEMS
  • Working transversally with colleagues being spread all over Europe
  • Adapting to changes of regulations

Hard skills

  • Sound knowledge of the natural gas market and of decarbonation regulation
  • Negotiation skills : min 3 years as business developer or in a commercial role
