Context:


The Environmental Market Access desk (EMA Desk) within GEMS is active on most of the environmental certificates markets (namely: Guarantees of Origins (GoOs), Certificat d'Economie d'Energie (CEEs), European Carbon Allowance and Carbon Offsets).

In order to support and secure the development and acceleration of this business, in line with our client's needs, we are looking at strengthening our capabilities in terms of management and optimization of our certificates stocks and delivery plans on one side, and the consolidation and expansion of our portfolio of counterparties.


You will be part of a team of Traders and will have close interaction with Sales and Back-Office teams
:


Role:


Certificates stocks and delivery plans optimization:


  • Ensure a regular monitoring of Certificates Stocks and projected deliveries:
  • In close coordination with the traders, build and optimize our delivery plans, prevent sub-optimal allocation of certificates and ensure they are the most effective economically wise.
  • Ensure consistency and adequacy of our stocks and projected movements with our delivery obligations
  • Prevent expiry/loss of certificates (in the case of GoOs)
  • Where needed, interact with external counterparties:
  • To fix any operational issues or to discuss any adhoc delivery arrangements
  • To answer any specific requests related to certificates deliveries
  • Ensure regular and smooth coordination with Back-Office for a timely and secure execution of our delivery obligations
  • Build or contribute to the improvement of the digital tools used for stocks and delivery plans monitoring/optimization

Coordination of the process to setup new business relations with existing or new counterparties:


  • In close coordination with the Traders and the Commercial team:
  • Define priorities, initiate and continuously follow-up the onboarding process for new counterparties or for new business relations with existing ones
  • Ensure smooth information flow and coordination with KYC, Credit and Legal teams at each step of the onboarding process
  • Identify blocking points and define/allocate actions to solve any blocking situation
  • Ensure FO complies with the onboarding process and provides timely information and answers to the support functions requests/questions
  • Assist FO in their interactions with the external counterparty being onboarded: info/docs sharing, followup/chaseup
  • Prepare or verify all outgoing/incoming contracts.
  • Any other tasks to support Traders and Sales in their daytoday tasks, to digitize their daily work and facilitate their interactions with support functions.

Hard skills:


  • You are at ease and meticulous in handling large amounts of critical data and you master data processing tools like Excel, PowerBI or others,
  • You are at ease with digital tools and have programming skills (VBA, Python ),
  • You know how to organize and manage a project involving multiple stakeholders and contributors.

Soft skills:


  • You are a fast learner and know how to adapt in an agile and constantly changing environment,
  • You are autonomous, a problem solver and a team player all at once
  • You like live interactions with colleagues and external counterparties.

Education and professional background:


  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Commerce or Finance,
  • A first experience in a trading environment on Front-Office side or any of the support functions (
