Description du poste
In the context of developing our activity in the automotive sector, we are looking for a Friction Commodity Buyer H/F for one of our clients.
Your tasks will include :
Market intelligence and budget preparation :
• Collect European, category, supplier specific information
• Propose strategic path to Global Category Manager
• Provide economic insights and trends on European market
• Propose new ideas of savings or cost avoidance
• Active participation in budget preparation and achievement
Perform sourcing and ensure commercial supplier performance :
• Send RFQ to suppliers
• Prepare cost estimation including request of "should cost" to Cost Engineering team
• Negotiate and formalize contracts
• Organize and lead the sourcing decisions in her/his area of responsibility based on the category strategy and Business Units expectations
• Negotiate annually or on spot with suppliers (prices, payment terms, tooling, commercial clauses, ...)
• Report KPI by part number and supplier
Manage supplier base :
• Maintain and develop contacts with suppliers
• Develop supplier panel
• Ensure commercial supplier performance and compliance
• Contribute to projects to optimize supplier performance
• Travels to supplier in Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe
Support plants :
• Support Business Unit plants in any operational discussions with suppliers in case of escalation requested (quality, delivery, ...).
Qualifications
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the purchasing field.
You are fluent in English and French.
You have strong mechanical skills to challenge engineering and suppliers, as well as significant knowledge in finance and cost structure.
Communication skills with supplier and stake holders.
Decision oriented mindset
Leadership: internal stakeholder coordination and supplier management.
