Laura de Ladoucette

My name is Laura de Ladoucette and I am a Franco-Jordanian student at Wellesley College. I am currently a senior double-majoring in Economics and Mathematics graduating in May 2024. My focus on Mathematics and Economics at Wellesley College sparked my interest in discovering innovative solutions to complex problems. This initial exposure inspired my honors thesis in econometrics, dissecting the financial underpinnings of autocracy in middle eastern economies. Upon graduation, I plan to continue drawing on my breath of academic research to bring a fresh perspective to tough challenges.

As a member of the international community, my interest in the world markets has led me to learn five languages, study in the United States and Singapore, and work in the Asian Football Development Project in the Zaatari Syrian Refugee Camp in Jordan (for which I independently raised $15,000). These experiences have allowed me to develop the critical soft skills necessary for a summer analyst. For instance, working in a team environment, multitasking, thinking outside the box, and constantly adapting to new situations. 

Over the course of recent years, I have garnered significant experience in both the financial and consulting sectors, with stints at world-renowned institutions. At Rothschild & Co as a Summer M&A Analyst, I was entrusted with crucial responsibilities, including the evaluation of restructuring opportunities for global IT brands like Atos and orchestrating a substantial financing venture for a pioneering zero-emission LNG terminal in Europe. My role necessitated the development and maintenance of intricate financial models, comprehensive presentations, and a hands-on approach to client communications. Shifting to a consulting role at Publicis Sapient, I steered a project to unify the digital platforms of a leading European electrical equipment distributor, having organized and analyzed inputs from diverse global clientele. My academic inclination was reflected when I assisted in teaching Calculus II at Wellesley College, guiding students and structuring lesson plans. Concurrently, I've been ardently involved in philanthropic endeavors at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan since 2016, focusing on empowering Syrian refugee girls through sports and successfully conducting fundraising campaigns

As a M&A Summer Analyst at Rothschild & Co in Paris, I developed advanced analytical and research skills. I honed my creative problem-solving and research skills by formulating business continuity scenarios and searching for potential comeback opportunities in the infant nutrition sector as a response to Danone's assets seized by Russia. As a team member working with the Rothschild & Co's Frankfurt and London sections to support the $1.5 billion financing operation to create Europe's largest LNG gas terminal, I engaged over 200 possible investors, analyzing how to satisfy both the client and the potential lender's needs. I worked in French, English, and Italian across five European countries. This prepared me to work with international clients and furthered my desire to put my languages to use.
