Our strong and agile international team continues to grow and adapt to new challenges. Based in Grenoble (France), we are currently establishing our Verkor Innovation Centre (R&D centre and 4.0 pilot line).

In the coming years, we will focus on building the world's most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France).

With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually and creating 1200 direct jobs.

We have an exciting opportunity as Assembly Junior Engineer in our Process Assembly Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the Assembly process including Notching/Baking/Stacking and winding/X-ray/Welding and Packaging. After a trial period you will take responsibility from one of the assembly process.

The role will evolve from the planning the pilot line, setting up the pilot line, improving the pilot line, planning the Gigafactory line, and then setting up the Gigafactory line.

You are embracing the objective of building and structuring Verkor as the most advanced battery manufacturing company in the world.

Responsibilities

Commissioning the pilot and Gigafactory assembly process from FAT to SOP.
Collaborating with the product engineering team to optimize the assembly process (Notching/Baking/Stacking and winding/Xray/Welding and Packaging) for the cell design.
Improving assembly process (Notching/Baking/Stacking and winding/Xray/Welding and Packaging) by increasing the level of process automation, which will save capital and operating costs.
Testing and validating stateoftheart technologies for use in the assembly process.
During the operation, you will complete root cause investigations into defects in the assembly process

Requirements - Qualifications and skills

Evidence of exceptional ability. Verkor follows a culture of fullcycle engineering where members will have full responsibility and accountability for their projects from start to finish. We are looking for the best of the best.
Lateral and innovative way of thinking
02 years of experience working with the battery manufacturing process.
Flexibility to travel and work in locations within the EU and Internationally
Strong statistical and data analysis skills with tools such as Python, Matlab, and Minitab.
Basic: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
Preferred: M.S. in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Materials or similar discipline.
Languages; Professional English. French and Korean will be useful
Temporary relocation to Gigafactory site in Dunkirk may be required in the future
