About the job
At Scaleway, you can create the products your colleagues will use. We are creating services for engineering teams all over the world to focus on the product they build.
In February 2021, Scaleway was the first cloud provider to launch Apple Silicon-as-a-service product. Our customers were able to rent brand new max mini m1 with per-hour billing and no commitment. Since, this product has been a huge success
- We are currently creating a new autonomous team to further develop and grow this offer. We are searching for our Tech Lead on this product.
In the first months, you will handle the product by yourself, but new teammates will join the team along the way.
- This is not a typical DevOps position at Scaleway, you will deal with both software and hardware challenges and will grow multiple expertise areas at once.
Responsibilities:

Your first 30 days:
- Discover how the Apple Silicon-as-a-service product works
- Learn the Scaleway ecosystem, understand how our tools works and how engineering is structured
- See some racks full of mac Mini in our Datacenters
- Speak a lot with the former maintainers of this product to dig into the code & hardware
- Ingest & contribute to our product vision with our Apple Silicon Product Manager
- Work with our support to understand problems customers might have
- Be able to resolve some common issues on the product
- Develop simple to complex features and make them available for customers
- Qualify new mac Mini (or mac Studio) hardware
- Deploy new hardware to production
Technical stack:
- You love Apple & macOS environments
- Databases : PostgreSQL, MySQL
- Cloud environment
- Python / GoLang
- Container Technologies
- Ansible
- Linux System & Network knowledge
- Gitlab, CI-CD
- Microservices architectures
- Scripting
- Jira, Confluence, Slack
- Bonus: you already use IoT hardware like Raspberry Pi and you are fan of electronic engineering
- Bonus: C and/or Rust programming
Preferred qualifications:
- Autonomous
- Open minded and ready to adapt quickly
- Clear communication
- DevOps mindset
