The Everest International Insurance Finance & Actuarial team provides high-profile services across Europe serving key stakeholders across Everest international Insurance and the wider Everest group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess and review all key business processes and identify risk areas to be mitigated by relevant controls relating to the following financial statement assertions: completeness, existence, accuracy, valuation, cut off, rights & obligations, presentation & disclosure
  • Identify enhancements in the daytoday financial operations, policies and procedures to optimize, streamline and reinforce the robustness the financial closing process
  • Represent finance in transversal projects to ensure related financial close risks are to be handled and mitigated appropriately by codesigning and implementing the respective financial processes and associated key controls. Initially key projects include Reinsurance Accounting, ERP, Billing, Coinsurance and Claims
  • Establish and monitor key financial controls to be included in the financial closing process including the process relating to frequency, documentation and storage
  • Implement and monitor consistent financial control framework standards and controllership metrics (dashboards & KPI's) across all regions (Europe, UK/Ireland, Asia and Pacific) ensuring scalability and consistency
  • Support finance teams in responding to control comments raised in internal and external audits and enhance control framework as needed
  • Collaborate with Division, Group and internal audit in relation to Sox implementation for international
  • Build and maintain key crossfunctional relationships that support Finance namely with the Operations and IT teams, and define KPIs

Skills and experience:

  • BSC in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Proven finance/accounting experience including Solvency 2 pillar 2 or Sox experience
  • Understanding of functions pertaining to insurance accounting, closing and financial reporting. Relevant international experience in insurance industry is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with project and change management
  • Leadership experience with strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and be able to multitask in an everchanging environment
  • Excellent PC skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables & VLOOKUPS)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and technical skills
  • Selfstarter; capable of working both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
