Position:
Senior Credit Manager

Organization

  • Direct report to Finance Director Holdings and SSCs France
  • Interface between Sales, Financial Department and Controlling team in BG/BU organisation in France
  • In charge of French entities : Nexans France, Nexans Aerospace France, Nexans Telecom Systems, Nexans Industrial solutions France, Nexans Interface, Nexans Power Accessories France
  • Turnover of 2,1billion euros
  • Management of a team of 9 people
  • Primo-Interpares interface from Credit managers to Corpororate insurance Director (CM program) and broker: France is the reference within the Group in term of Credit Management Guidelines

Responsabilities

  • Timely information procurement about business prospect based on credit reporting agency
  • Evaluate received informations and request internal agreement, if necessary (internal agreement French policie)
  • Report monthly, quarterly, yearend: A/R, overdue A/R, reserves A/R, DSO, amounts over insurance credit limit, payments in advance, bank guarantees and intercompany flows ( quarterly)
  • Manage cashin actuals and forecast for the next 3 months
  • Supervise booking of the accounts receivable, propose reserves upon analysis
  • Define target reporting model and ensures relevant IT developments
  • To realize other measurements and reporting tools as deemed necessary
  • To be a keyuser within Getpaid tool, handle deployments

Risk monitoring

  • Permanently review and maintain of granted insurer credit limit to potential and existing customers
  • Continually measure and evaluate existing customer payment performance to validate appropriate credit lines and payment terms critical appraisal and support of payment terms and credit limits
  • Inform Business Groups /Units managers of the amendments of credit limit receided by the insurer
  • Manage internals agreements by Business Groups/Units

Risk minimizing

  • Minimizing undercoverage of receivables (gap analysis)
  • Delete needless credit limits mind the credit portfolio
  • Report unpaid receivables to the insurer in due time to invoke the indemnification
  • Advises financial management on major customer exposures and risks and recommends and implements action plan, while maintaining customer relationships and highest practical sales volumes
  • Permanently efficient cash collection (see next point)

Cash collection

  • To handle dunning process and collections if necessary block the account in wellfounded cases
  • Send several times in the month overdue items to Sales Departments (FOBO)/ customer for clearing oustanding items
  • Analysis unallocated cash without clear assignment, and unclaimed customer credits as per local legal conditions.
  • Send to the treasury department a cashplan according to the calendar in order to improve the financial position (cash flow) at group level
  • Close cooperation with legal department in causa contract design/ collection

Efficient routines/ processes

  • To Establish and continually evaluate effectiveness of current credit and collection policies and procedures and ensuring they are aligned with corporate directives, business strategies and current local, legal_
  • To establish and maintain accurate and up to date customer data/ accounts
  • Hire and train credit department staff on Nexans systems, policies and procedures
  • Managing factoring program for A/R portfolios
  • Initiate field visits with internal and external customers and critical credit associations to foster good relations
  • Coordinates with the BG CFO / BU CFO on all credit issues
  • Coordinates as necessary with insurer/ internal/ external auditors

  • Liaise/negotiate with the insurer for A/R an optimal Credit Insurance coverage
  • Consistency of methods & tools and timeliness of reporting information
  • In charge of the quarterly intercompany flows reconciliation (sales to cash)
  • Supervise the team to have accurate and clean accounts receivable and assist in quarterly, half year and yearly closing

Comply with the Credit Management Policy

  • Applies Nexans' policies and procedures relating to credit management and the "ordertocash" process; follows established processes and protocols
  • Continually evaluates the effectiveness of current credit procedures and control activities /ensures they are aligned with corporate procedures, legal directives, ins
