Arm's Sophia Antipolis design centre is located in one of the most beautiful parts of France, at the heart of Europe's largest and most dynamic technology park.
Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this exceptional design centre has delivered leading products from Arm's Cortex (TM) processor family.
As Graduate CPU Micro-architect and Performance Modelling Engineer, you will be tasked with developing an internal CPU performance model with the latest micro-architectural improvement ideas, and performing associated micro-architectural investigations.
The model is used initially during the early phases of projects to help and define the micro-architecture of the product, with a specific focus on high performance and energy efficiency.
It is then refined and tuned during the development phases to assess performance trade-offs, and used as a gold standard to ensure the product reaches its area, frequency, power and performance targets.
Responsibilities:
- Development of microarchitectural CPU models
- Microarchitecture investigations and exploration
- CPU performance and power efficiency analysis
Required Skills and Experience:
- Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
- Programming skills (C or C++)
- Understanding of the fundamentals of CPU architecture
- Habits of Linux environment
- Good English and interpersonal skills
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience:
- CPU or System modelling knowledge
- CPU performance analysis / benchmarking
- Compilers and code generation techniques
- Scripting skills in Python
