  • Key member of site Leadership Team:

Direct reporting line to Plant General Manager and functional report to the BU HRD

Complexity:
interaction with Unions, Employees, all other managers and colleagues in the Group organisation


Responsibilities:

member of the site management team alongside the Managers of Operations, OHSE, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical, Finance, Commercial and the Plant GM.


Staff:

Principal Accountabilities and

KEY TASKS WILL INCLUDE (not an exclusive list):

  • Manages and develops the HR team on site, delivering its maximum potential
  • Is trusted business partner to the Plant Leadership Team
  • Plans, directs and controls all human resources activities including recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits
  • Develops labour relations and internal and external communications.
  • Develops good relationships with Trade Unions Reps
  • Leads, promotes and coordinates the engagement agenda for the site
  • Links to the Group for reporting or other networking activities
  • Manages labour cost evaluation for budget or others reports/event
  • Coordinates workforce planning in anticipation of internal and external evolving factors to ensure proactively human capital readiness to deliver business objectives
  • Monitors and assess headcount variations versus plan in the context of business needs
  • Ensures that the human resources goals are carried out in terms of quantity, quality, costs and safety
  • Studies and solves disciplinary issues, responsible for drawing up labour agreements
  • Promotes and supports organizational changes: finds suitable solution also in terms of job rotation and people planning management
  • Implements human resources strategies and policies to support and achieve corporate business objectives
  • Is Sponsor/Leader for special HR project also for their communication
  • Coordinates and motivates a sense of belonging to the company's organization
  • Supervises training plans for key people/Managers
  • Suggests and coordinates the update of wage levels (salary review and performance management)
  • Promotes Amcor Values and HR strategy within the plant
  • Takes part in meetings and relevant management decisions
  • Resolves issues and facilitates good relationships
  • Ensures a competitive working environment and supports and achieves business objectives
  • Encourages team building
  • Is involved/leads continuous improvements activities and or projects

Qualifications/Requirements:

Formal Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree level education, with an employment law qualification preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership and skill in HR
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of effective HR tools
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Employee relations practices and processes, both Unionised and nonUnionised engagement, consultation, communication, change management, changes to policies, procedures, T&C's, etc.
  • People Development activities appraisals, personal development plans, apprentice programmes, Talent Management programmes, etc.
  • At least 10 years of work experience of which 5 in an HR Manager position for highly manufacturing organizations
  • Fluent English; any other European language a plus.
