Description

The OBS Games Services department has had the duty to provide foodservices to over 8,000 staff members and crews.

The Food & Beverage Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Manager in the organizing and planning of all details involved in providing food services within venue compounds for the OBS workforce.

This will involve all catering related activities as well day-to-day management of selected OBS catering vendors for each of these sites.

This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Duties

  • Work with the Food & Beverage Manager in the planning and provision of temporary food service operations at venue compounds including all equipment, electrical, fuel and water requirements;
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the load in and set up of catering equipment and trailers preceding actual operations;
  • Liaise with local providers during the planning and operation
  • Maintain and update the Catering schedules based on changes in the Organizational Charts, Competition and Official Training Times;
  • Coordinate with the Caterers and the Broadcast Logistics Managers scheduling of provided meals at the venue through an specific computer system;
  • Coordinate with the Caterers Broadcast Logistics Managers the cleaning and waste operation at the broadcast compounds in line with the Sustainability Policies stablished by OBS and the local regulations
  • Work with the Caterers and the Broadcast Logistics Managers on the reconciliation of issued and redeemed meal tickets;
  • Ensure that the caterers meet all requirements for temporary food service operations;
  • Assist in the development and execution of a detailed onsite catering management plan for each venue;
  • Review menu plans and special dietary needs with caterers and implementing quality controls as required;
  • Planning and execution of all OBS Special Events and Meetings Pre-Games;
  • Good knowledge of local service providers and geographical area preferred.
Experience

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook Express, Power Point);
  • Detail orientated team player capable of communicating with all levels in a multinational organization;
  • Exceptional trouble shooting skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Time management & priority setting skills essential;
  • Ability to generate and maintain detailed plans and reports;
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Workplace & Environment

  • Fast paced work environment;
  • Operations are based in the International Broadcast Centre (IBC);
  • Full time shift work including evening and weekends;
  • Subject to national/international criminal background checks;
  • Position commences in May 2024.
