About the role

We are looking for a
Finance Controller Commercial Subsea Africa, Middle East & India (M/F) who can join our multicultural team in Paris.

Integrated within the Finance team, you will work in close collaboration with the Tendering, Project Management, Treasury, and Tax teams to execute successful tenders and projects, while managing the financial risk on those projects, both pre
- and post-award.


Your scope includes the review, negotiation and coordination of all financial aspects, including legal entity contracting structure, contract terms & conditions, foreign taxes, foreign exchange, creditworthiness, and cashflow.

The objective is for a win-win outcome through balancing client requirements and preserving TFMC principles.

Your main tasks will be as follows:

Standard Bid Review

  • Governed by the Bid It Standard GPS-COR15001 coordinate review of the following main areas:


  • Creditworthiness

  • review of client, partners, and major subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Payment terms days to pay, retention, interest on late payment, suspension / termination for nonpayment.
  • Cashflow / Cancellation fee project funding, including net cash and exposure profile.
  • Foreign currency price and cost basis denomination and resulting hedging.
  • Financial guarantees parent company guarantee and bank guarantees.
  • Taxes jurisdictions, contracting structure and entities and impacts on pricing.
  • Review and qualification (redline) of contract and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Direct negotiation of terms with clients.
  • Pricing inputs / review taxes, guarantees cost, foreign exchange risk adjusted rates (RAR), etc.
  • Submit & Sign Gate meeting participation, including presentation slides.
  • GPS Financial Deviations management and workflow.
  • Ensuring Full Burden Costs are applied and Finance Memo is applied

You'll have to manage more complex Projects & Other Considerations, such as:

  • Complexity can arise due to contracting structure, location / foreign jurisdiction, project size, etc., needing additional coordination.
  • Contracting structures may include consortiums, partnerships, and joint ventures, having possible implications on P&L's, invoicing and payment, banking, liabilities and guarantees.
  • Foreign jurisdictions may produce added country risk:
  • Possible tax impacts
  • Changes in law, including tax law, and economic instability.
  • Treasury concerns banking restrictions (central bank), convertible currency and trapped cash.
  • Local advisory support (taxes, treasury, accounting, etc.) may be needed.
  • New locations may require the setup of the following:
  • Branches and tax registrations
  • Offices and staffing
  • ERP and accounting

You are meant for this job if

  • You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in all the abovementioned financial aspects (treasury, financial control, project finance).
  • A similar experience in an industry will be highly appreciated.
  • You are rigorous and autonomous, and are recognised for your organisational and interpersonal skills, which are real assets in the face of the numerous interactions with the various disciplines.
  • English is an essential working language.
