Job Title

Join our team at Amadeus as a Senior Manager for the Core Engineering Toolchain department and lead the transition towards a more modern and open toolchain based on GitHub. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a department of around 35 engineers and act as Business owner for the Engineering Toolchain SAFe train. You will play a crucial role in supporting the development activities of all business units in Amadeus, and your work will have a direct impact on thousands of engineers who use the Engineering Toolchain daily. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of engineering at Amadeus and drive innovation in our toolchain technologies.

The department regroups architecture services and engineering teams in charge of development environment and CI/CD workflows. Flagship products are DevBox, Software Workbench workflows, GitHub and Bird.

In this role, you will:

• Manage a department, coaching managers and overseeing talent management of the group.
• Coordinate allocation of resources and controls policy formation in area of responsibility. Anticipates business issues and challenges for the department to define and resolve complex problems that may impact into the division / function.
• Suggest alternatives / improvements / new techniques in processes, flows, operational models and plans.
• Foster technical excellence and ensure operational continuity.
• As the business owner of the Engineering Toolchain train, establish and communicate the vision, value proposition, and objectives of the train. Work with product managers, system architects, and other business owners to define and prioritize backlog. Act as sponsor for key epics linked to department activity.
• Champion agile practices in collaboration with Release Train Engineers and Lean Agile Center of excellence.

About the ideal candidate

• Experience in managing engineering teams
• Knowledge of SAFe and Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with modern toolchain technologies, including GitHub
• Great communication and building relations skills
• Fluent in English
• Proactivity and problem solving
